I'm at the end of Vol 2 now, probably i'll update the review when i'll finish all the vol. I'll be honest, this is one of those games that make me wish that steam make possible to do the "neutral review" , i can't really give this game the L but a positive one either. The game is a port, "restored and remastered" is a joke, the game has the same good and issues of the original one, i lost the count of the crash that append in vol 2 (expecially in arena and usind the awekning, but even a soft lock during a story quest with a battle encounter, not all the monster was in the battle and i was stuck, since i din't had a smoke screen i was unable to leave the battle forcing me to close the game and losing hours of progress, luckly this append only 2 times to me). If you take this for like what it is, a ps2 game, is fine, but take in mind that is more a story game that a gameplay game (i don't understand why the're a cheat mode, but ok i guess, not needed not an issue), dungeon are really few and repetitive, and nothing will make you want to play other than do the 100% achievement, the few optional minigames that CC put in the game for "simulate" a mmo only "simulate" the annoyng part of the mmo grind. Gameplay wise, you only can use your MC, understable for a ps2 game but now? no, and anyway even that the MC can use 3 different weapon, you'll just only press a (you can do it dark souls pro player, i belive in you, you can spam a instead of r1 and beat the game without the cheat mode). The avatar battle... i really wish that in this port it was reworked, annoyng and borin, again it was ok for a ps2 game but now? shoot, wait for the 100* time that the boss do his useless move we're is invincible, press a, repeat until is done. Balancment? kekw, no? even only doing the story, if you do the side quest, with ZERO grind and extra stuff, without make your gear + you'll melt the game (again why the cheat story mode? oh well is a story wise game). The story is.. ok i guess? if you have done the first quadrilogy, this is quite a more the same, MC join the world, a friend jot in to a coma after being PK in game, find out the gulty and why. But is not bad written, some small issues just nothing mind blowing and take in mind that this is one of that game... only the game is ok but if you want the full picture is all scattered on other stuff like manga anime spin off etc. Extra note. If you want all achievement, you can do it without a guide since the book of 1000 can be 100% even if you have not done the 100% of the game, but if you want to do a real 100% of the game take a guide and at least CHECK if you miss someting BEFORE you go to the nex volume, the game don't tell you all (yes the book of 1000 too) and some thing can't be recovered after you have passed on the nex vol even converting the save (example? the doppelganger, i din't know that he existed before the end of the vol 2 since the game din't tell you about him, i had all the monster in the book of 1000 so i moved on, guess what, he had a a unique drop that you can have only in vol 1, gg, this is not a real issues only because you can do the 100% achievement without the 100% of the game completed). Again, this is a good ps2 game with some issues of the past, but since is not the past anymore, and the steam page tell you "RESTAURED and remastered" i can't give him the win and suggest this game to ppl that are not a fan of this kinda of game, gameplay wise? not enough, story wise? can be enough but you have to go trough the gameplay... (oh that's why the story cheat mode)...
