Tex Murphy: Martian Memorandum is an adventure game developed in 1991 with a very poor budget. That's the point. The interface is really bad, it's very hard to control Tex and there's no pathfinding so you can go ahead only in straight lines. All the action and flight sim parts from Mean Streets have been cut out, this means that the developers focused more on the adventure aspects. There are a lot of items and locations, good (but simple) puzzles, trial and error segments, interrogations is a really important part as the predecessor, and multiple choice responses to cooperate with our "partner in crime". The graphics (256 color vga) is bad, sprites are really bad, sound is really really bad... so, everything is bad in this game? No! Despite some problems, the game is enjoyable - at least if you're a fan of the series - and the story is very, very good. Give it a try only if you're able to tolerate these important issues, otherwise don't!
