I'm a big fan of Serious Sam series, but I didn't like this game. First of all, it adds something new to the classic Sam games. It adds content (such as new maps), frag icons, players' ping on screen and the possibility to host a game without using the dedicated server app, also bypassing port forwarding and you can play different versus modes along with weapon mutators. You can also add 'kill awards' popups for when a player kills others many times without dying. It also fixed the infamous 'swimming' bug some players used to exploit during deathmatch games. However, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this game because it's broken, starting from versus mode itself. If somebody uses different addons, such as different weapon skins, server will start de-syncing. You'll see your opponent who will move randomly and will no longer attack you. I played with a friend who was willing to play duel here. After a while he asked me if I was playing or not because of de-sync, while I was about to ask him for the same. This is because the author of this mod had the brilliant idea of removing the sync check from server functions and this also broke public servers. So my friend had to remove the custom skin for the sniper rifle in order to get back to normality. If this game is so broken, why is there additional downloadable content for it then? Second, the sniper mask. There's no way I could use it. The default command Use/Invoke NETRICSA/Sniper Zoom gives an error on console, saying that variable is not declared. So they removed a basic thing from the original code, wow! The separate keys 'Use/Sniper Zoom' and 'Invoke NETRICSA' do not work either: simply nothing happens if you bind the sniper mask to them (it doesn't even give an error message back, nothing). Tried with Mouse Button 2, 4 and Enter. So keyboard or mouse doesn't matter: your sniper mask simply won't work and you are forced to no scope mode. This is really annoying on instagib, because no scope is inaccurate and you must rely on 3rd person view to get a lucky kill, sometimes looking for the center of the map above your head (which is the direction your bullets are supposed to go), but aiming like that in 1st person is basically impossible. They added RAW input to theoretically improve the mouse aiming, but once again they broke everything. While on the classics I just needed 800 DPI with 6% global sensitivity and 38% on both axes and the aim still is fast enough, on Revolution I'm forced to 1) enable RAW input otherwise mouselook will feel terrible and 2) use insanely high DPI, such as 2600/2800 otherwise it will be incredibly slow. On Serious Sam HD I just use 1800 and I don't have such problems. Now public servers are gone, so this game is basically dead forever. But it's not that bad, considering the game carried some additional levels (such as Sankta Nokto) which were really awful to play because they aren't 'arena' type levels at all. I got this game included in the Complete Pack, but really: don't bother with playing it, unless you want to try single player. I'm not recommending it for multiplayer purposes..
