Every decision matters and allows you to approach the game in countless ways, making each playthrough unique. The story is another highlight: rich, engaging, and full of depth, it captivates players with its mature themes and well-written characters, each with their own personality and motivations that make them truly memorable. The atmosphere is one of a kind, perfectly blending the post-apocalyptic setting with a western style that makes the game world even more immersive and intriguing to explore. Replayability is another strong point, not only because of the numerous narrative paths but also thanks to the DLCs, which are masterpieces in their own right and absolutely worth purchasing to expand the experience. Despite being an older title, New Vegas holds up remarkably well thanks to its design and gameplay, though it does suffer from some technical issues. Installing a few MODs is almost essential to improve stability and avoid occasional crashes.

New Vegas non è solo un RPG: è una lezione di come si costruisce un mondo interattivo. Fin dal primo momento, sei libero di esplorare il deserto del Mojave, un posto brutale ma pieno di storie, personaggi e fazioni in guerra. Le tue decisioni contano davvero. Allearti con la NCR (New California Republic), diventare un lacchè di Caesar’s Legion, sostenere Mr. House o far esplodere tutto e governare da solo con il carismatico Yes Man… ogni scelta apre (o chiude) porte in modo permanente. Il sistema di reputazione con le fazioni è geniale: aiutare una gang di banditi potrebbe renderti un eroe per loro, ma un nemico pubblico per gli altri. Le quest sono scritte con una profondità incredibile, piene di dialoghi taglienti, opzioni morali ambigue e soluzioni creative (esempio: risolvere una faida tra famiglie mafiose organizzando un matrimonio finto, mentre pianifichi un omicidio nel backstage). Il combattimento è migliorato rispetto a Fallout 3, con l’aggiunta della modalità “V.A.T.S.” e armi modificabili, ma resta un po’ clunky rispetto agli standard moderni. Non importa: qui è la storia a comandare. Gioco Fantastico!!!!
