[h2]Recensione di Midnight Scenes: The Nanny[/h2] [h3]Pro:[/h3] - Un comparto sonoro azzeccato per la terza volta consecutiva - Dei personaggi freschi o comunque sia ben caratterizzati - Quelli che in [i][url=https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198985448870/recommended/1382730/]The Goodbye Note[/url][/i] erano stati giusto dei guizzi di comicità in più rispetto al predecessore trovano qui una buona gestione e amalgama all'INQUIETANTISSIMO contesto di base - Un'ulteriore evoluzione stilistica rispetto al capitolo precedente - La ricostruzione storica/geografica si riconferma in tutto il suo fascino - La grafica... idem come sopra (al di là della relativa incociliabilità tra esterni e interni delle varie abitazioni) - Gameplay nuovamente sfruttato a dovere nella sua semplicità - Messaggio ben affrontato e, a suo modo, profondamente inquietante [h3]Contro:[/h3] - Un paio di bugs estetici di troppo - Non colgo perché la detective Taylor dovrebbe avere degli slots in cui raccogliere degli items, non avendone nè il bisogno nè la possibilità - Una certa descrizione che Octavi, Susanna o chi per loro si è dimenticato di localizzare in inglese [h3]Osservazione aggiuntiva:[/h3] A partire da questo capitolo, ritengo più sensato prendere le [i]Midnight Scenes[/i] in senso antologico (nel senso prendere ciascuna "Scene" per quel che è, piuttosto che valutarla rispetto alle altre) [h2]Voto: 8/10 e lode[/h2]

This is the latest game of the surprisingly talented indie dev Octavi Navarro, who has specialized in making very short, but incredibly fascinating and atmospheric horror mini-games heavily inspired by the famous Twilight Zone series. These bite-sized puzzle games are very easy to complete, but they leave a huge mark, believe me. Everything in the little products of this proper artist is inspired by the good old science fiction of the 60's, 70's and 80's, and also by Stephen King's novels I suppose. There is little to no gore, jumpscares are almost absent, yet these games fully manage to scare you simply with their sheer spooky atmosphere of mystery. The "monsters" don't shout loud at your face, they are not even presented to you immediately, but you can clearly feel their presence as you keep playing. Until they strike. And when they do, you just catch a quick glimpse of them. Do you remember the famous scene of the first Alien movie where, after a long and unnerving suspense, the adult xenomorph suddenly drops from the ceiling and murders Brett in front of Jonesy the cat? Ok, the games of Octavi Navarro are just the same. This chapter in particular strongly conveys this sensation of constant danger which is only unleashed in the very end. This game brings several improvements compared to the previous entries of the Midnight Scenes series: there is more interaction with the environment, the graphics are cooler and more inspired, clearly reminiscent of the good old VHS devices, and the narration is much more engaging. This dev is surely making huge steps forward, and since this episode ends with [spoiler]a partial cliffhanger[/spoiler], I honestly can't wait to see what he will come up with next, and how this creepy story will end. In the meantime, I recommend that everyone shows him their support by buying and playing this little hidden gem, together with the previous episodes of the amazing Midnight Scenes series, of course!
