ITA/ENG Il punto di forza di questo gioco è ovviamente la longevità. Essendo un rogue like, cambia a ogni nuova partita. La planimetria della mappa, gli obiettivi, la posizione degli oggetti, i nemici che incontri: tutto cambia ogni volta che muori e ricominci. L'obiettivo generale è quello di fuggire dalla prigione ma intanto dovrai cercare di portare a termine più obiettivi secondari possibili, come trovare documenti d'intelligence o oggetti speciali. La gestione dell'inventario è molto semplice: l'arma va posizionata sulla spalla destra ma bisogna fare un po' di pratica per capire bene come riporla e riprenderla dalla fondina, altrimenti si rischia di perderla per strada. Gli altri oggetti invece, vanno riposti dietro la spalla sinistra. Inizialmente hai solo una pistola con un solo caricatore ma lungo la strada puoi uccidere soldati nemici e frugare i loro corpi, trovando, tra i vari oggetti, anche caricatori pieni. Altre munizioni, armi e altri oggetti, possono essere sbloccati acquistandoli presso un banco all'inizio di ogni nuova partita e con l'ultimo aggiornamento è stato aggiunto anche un compagno d'avventura: un cane, che ti segue e abbaia per avvisarti la presenza di nemici nelle vicinanze. L'IA dei nemici è basilare: ti vedono, ti sparano, stanno impalati sul posto per farsi sparare facilmente. Solo in alcune occasioni li ho visti avanzare verso di me cercando di tagliare gli angoli cercando di nascondersi dietro il muro. L'ambientazione è un altro punto forte di Uberlaufer, che ricorda molto quella di Return to Castel Wolfenstein, non solo perché è ambientato nella Germania anni 40, ma come stile di gioco ricalca molto le sensazioni vissute giocando a Wolfenstein 3D o Castel Wolfenstein. Non è un horror ma riesce a tenerti costantemente col fiato sospeso e a volte mette anche i brividi. Pounto dolente di questo gioco: la grafica. Pur essendo un gioco per PC di recente pubblicazione, la grafica è molto grezza e poco definita, è un bagno di pixel e texture di bassa qualità, si cerca di nascondere tutto con un buio che taglia la visuale a pochi metri di distanza, ma i modelli dei soldati nemici, le armi, i vari oggetti che si trovano nel mondo, gli arredi, i muri, insomma tutto quello che c'è intorno a te è visivamente di bassa qualità. In compenso però è molto fluido e anche su schede video VR Ready più datate riuscirebbe a scorrere fluido anche a dettagli alti. The setting is another strong point of Uberlaufer, which is very reminiscent of Return to Castel Wolfenstein, not only because it is set in Germany in the 40s, but as a style of play it closely follows the sensations experienced by playing Wolfenstein 3D or Castel Wolfenstein. It is not a horror but it manages to keep you constantly in suspense and sometimes even shivers. Sore spot of this game: the graphics. Despite being a recently released PC game, the graphics are very rough and poorly defined, it is a bath of pixels and low quality textures, it tries to hide everything with a darkness that cuts the view a few meters away, but the models of enemy soldiers, weapons, various objects found in the world, furnishings, walls, in short, everything around you is visually of low quality. On the other hand, it is very fluid and even on older VR Ready video cards it would be able to run smoothly even at high details. It is not a game to have at all costs but if you like the rogue like genre, Uberlaufer, with its originality and particular setting, is a title that can give you several hours of fun in an always different way with each new game.
