Temps de jeu:
800 minutes
good:
funny voicelines from HR
syncing up with your friends and pre-shotting boxes is a satisfying dance that I haven't felt since playing competitive rocket league
hilarious tiptaps (love you paige)
satisfyingly hard to master controls (drifting on ice... mmmmm)
roleplaying as a manager
soccer (me and my friends play it like tennis but you can turn it into american football)
hats
you can clap your friends
bad:
there is a severe lack of content (though the pricetag does make it a bit better but I wish it had more and was more expensive). you realize after an hour or two that the arenas and boxes just loop throughout the levels (there seems to be only about a dozen different boxes and like what, 5 arenas? they don't even have themes related to the level or mirrored versions, stuff like that). not enough upgrades and I wish they leaned more into the roguelike aspect with builds that would allow your team to split into "roles" like a speed delivery guy, a stacker, cleaner, etc. and stacking hazards the further you go. instead, you only go through 5 rounds and pick the same upgrades every time that just make your forklift stronger, there is a slight amount of choice to be made where for example you'll pick a cooling fan if you chose the HAVC hazard but it's a bit minimum.
difficulty does not scale with the amount of players, so whilst playing with 4 people does make you crashout a lot more (♥♥♥♥ my coworkers) solo is sometimes just hard for no real reason, because truck timers take as much time and both trucks arrive simultaneously
certain hazards just don't have counters like the allergies (covid mask where? and bigger flashlight PLEASE) and some even counter your counters (cacti spawns faster if you quickly start to pick all of them using a vacuum? why?). my favorite hazard is the ice one because unlike every single other that is just designed to make you hate your life (I'll come back to that) you can actually use the ice to your advantage by learning how to slide around, throw boxes on the floor to make them slide towards delivery points/your friends or even throwing scrubbie to make it clean messes on its path without activating like a bowling ball. otherwise this leads me to my next point:
the design philosophy of the game loop seems to love prioritizing tediousness over fun: as I've said almost every hazard is not here to add difficulty but "chaos" like haha you're gonna sneeze and blow up lol have fun picking up your packages-which yes I understand that is the idea of a "Crashout Crew" but is that really fun? I personally struggle when these obstacles don't have ways to be overcome through skill, like cacti just respawning infinitely, hazards not having counters, or random explosions breaking all your boxes on the other side of the map via rng
this all makes it plain impossible to get S rank on contracts, especially because
the ranking system is really flawed. S rank on a contract requires you to have an S on every 5 rounds. this would be fine if a single broken box or god forbid you didn't send a delivery in under 3 seconds didn't pull you straight down to A rank, and the most unforgiving salt on my bleeding wounds? you CANNOT make it up by excelling at your job and getting quick deliveries (which does give you money bonus), that DOES NOT count towards an S rank!! you simply have to do every delivery under half a timer and never send any broken box!! I get you guys were trying to replicate real jobs experiences but damn I did NOT need to relive the trauma of having my work go unnoticed
the other coin of this system is that you have to really be the worst employee of all time to get anything under a B rank, I'm not even sure me and my friends ever got one in 10 hours LOL
there are a few game breaking bugs that unfortunately got in the way of our sessions more than once, like multiple crashes (did I mention you can't join mid game lol you gotta finish all 5 rounds which can be 15 minutes not counting break time) or the damned box just not spawning, forcing us to fail the job (YES we scoured everywhere but one of the boxes just left the pool and never appeared past a certain point)
you can't customize your forklift in a coop forklift game, this feels like such a let down after PEAK's genius achievements rewards system, genuinely a perfect way to give cosmetics and offer challenges of various difficulties to players, not sure why they'd not reuse that system considering how good it is and achievements being in the game, perhaps they could add forklift cosmetics through achievements?? :D
these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ monkeys and their stupid bananas WHY can you not put them in the hydrolic press Aggrocrab
I still haven't been paid (we're mid month?? wheres my paycheck)
overall it's really painful to want to love this game for its charm, looks, interesting ideas and wanting more games to play with your friends, but it lacking in replay value and content when compared to their previous game-or the one you could most accurately compare it to: Overcooked, having different levels that all actually bring a new gimmick and arena feels like a let down, and a demo almost?
I love you Aggrocrab but saying you don't plan to add any content to this new game feels a bit strange but thank you still for the cheap game and sometimes fun experience
