I had a great time with Sentient Steel. The gameplay feels smooth overall, and while the art direction is quite minimalist, it's really charming and visually pleasing. I especially loved the soundtrack — the music in the first world in particular really stood out to me. There were a few little things that felts a bit weird to me. Special mention goes to the aerial attack that lets you basically hover infinitely, which ended up trivializing a good chunk of the boss fights — funny but maybe a bit broken. Also, the tutorial for basic combos showing up halfway through the final world also made me chuckle a bit. That said, I genuinely enjoyed the experience as a whole. Wouldn't be surprised if Nier: Automata was one of the inspirations — the drone sections and the whole “thinking machines” theme gave off similar vibes. I highly recommend this game. While it's generally on the easier side — making it quite accessible for more casual players — there's clearly a high skill ceiling for those who want to dig deeper and push the mechanics further. There's real potential for mastery if you're looking for it.
