Wondered what it felt to fight in WW1 Eastern Africa?...German Askaris vs British KAR's (reminds me of a nice Opsrey book I own). Well, I am delighted ! The flavor is there, the product looks gorgeous, and I am enjoying playing my "African Queen" (movie wink) here. The designer has well captured the intricacies of colonial warfare in the area during the Great War. The force structures, and above all the tactics and the strategy are very well rendered. As the German I went a bit cocky after my easy victoires and lost against the big bataillons of the Entente. When they came after me in force, I had to run...luckily using my Askaris skills in guerrilla warfare to save my skin. I tried the other side, thinking that playing an Elephant would be easy and that the German fly would be crushed soon... big error. The flies (Tse Tse) and the mosquitoes (the Malaria and other diseases are killers, like was the case by then) just wrecked my ambitions and I had to carefully progress, in the rare moment when heavy rainfall or drastic heat did not prevent my operations. i was feeling being "there", which is, after all, what I believe is best in an historical simulation. Great job! One last wish, SGS guys, make a game "out of Africa"(another movie wink) next time.
