This was a ride. I bought this game only a few hours ago and I ended up staying the whole night to play it. It's very reminiscent of Zero Escape, so if you like the ZE saga or Your Turn To Die, you should definitely give it a try. The puzzles were a bit hard for me as someone who isn't an English native speaker, but the walkthroughs from the community helped a lot. I really enjoyed it from the beginning to the ending and I'll be adding the previous game to my library soon! The only thing I really, really would wish for the next game is more time spent on the sprite art. The CGs were beautifully illustrated and had amazing quality but the unmasked sprites + ME's sprites kind of took me out of the story because they were rendered very differently from the CGs. While as an artist myself I understand this is not easy, I think the game would really benefit from this! Other than that, I think this was a wonderful game and the characters were so well written and interesting to get to know. Can't wait for the next one!

I would put this game in the same category as Danganronpa and Zero Escape (especially the latter). It is a shame that there are no more games like this. I enjoy a lot "ontological mystery" games, where one of the biggest questions is "WTF is really going on here?" The game starts as a death game where you are the mastermind. You have puzzles to solve and "escape rooms". I feel like, though not as graphically rich as the puzzles of Zero Escape, these were more tricky and engaging than those of Head AS Code. Through several loops and with the help of a chart, you unlock the story. I like the attention to detail of the game. For this kind of games, I like to figure out what is going on in the overall story by piecing together little clues. I was not able to, this time. I had a couple of theories, but none turned out to be true. I also enjoyed thinking about the concepts the game plays with. I like where the series is going, and I can´t wait for the next entry. The puzzles were great fun. Sometimes I was stuck thinking for quite a while, until suddenly the answer came like a flash. I feel like it´s difficult to make a puzzle that manages to create that feeling. The game also has great humor, especially in the "escape room" segments. There´s plenty of veiled (and not so veiled) references to other media, which I enjoyed. The story was very intriguing all through the game, and I especially enjoyed playing the last part. If I had to level some criticism, I´d say that neither the characters nor the setting are too colourful or likable. Maybe it´s because of the helmets. Playing a game where you cannot see the character´s expressions was a novel experience, but it was less of a visual stimulus. Maybe it is because of their personalities. With a few exceptions, the characters don´t seem to have much motivation or agency. I feel like the game would be even more enjoyable if it focused more on small but meaningful interactions between them. It doesn't help that the characters are not good people. This is lampshaded in the game plenty of times, and makes sense withing the story, but it´s still less enjoyable to play a game with characters who you can't admire. The setting, the school, was also quite drab. There´s not much to see in the backgrounds, which makes it a bit repetitive. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and I recommend it wholeheartedly to enjoys stories that combine mystery and sci-fi. Thank you, Miracle Moon. Looking forward to the next game!
