Game with potential but after a certain point you start asking yourself, why you´re still playing. Precious little to do to begin with and from turn 50 or so onwards, the only thing left to do is to watch your terretory for enemies and that´s pretty much it. The political favors are a complete waste and have no real purpose or influnce on the game. Easily one of the biggest design blunders I´ve seen in 30+ years of gaming. Another such example would be assasination. I killed the other dons each mulitple times throughout the game but it had no effect on the game and it is questionable at best that it had any effect on the game other then "oopsie, don is dead. Aww, fudge it. It´s not like he had much influence on our gang to begin with"
Now, you´d think losing the head of the gang has significant impact on said gang, but nope. Business as usual.
To call it grand strategy is a joke at best and a freakin insult at worst. No strategy whatsoever. Takes you like five turns to figure out what rackett works were and then you´re pretty much set for smooth sailing from there. If you´re used to actual strategy games (or aren´t a freaking moron, for that matter) the game will bore you. Fast.
Add more content and invest in the strategy aspects. You may still be able to save it.
At it´s current stage it´s a 5 buck bargain bin game and nowhere near the asking price of 17 bucks. And even that is generously put and aplies only, if you REALLY don´t know any other way to blow a 5er.
