Flowers -Le volume sur hiver- is the 4th and final episode of the Flowers series. I would describe this game as flawed, but still very satisfying. The ending hits hard and there are a few good plot twists i would never have expected, especially the answer to the question why mayuri disappeared. There are a few things i still don't understand though. For example, [spoiler]why did Nerine and Yuzuriha become so needlessly bitter and hostile? I understand why they tried to stop suoh, but that doesn't explain why especially nerine acted so hateful towards her. I'm not happy with that. In fact i hate this, because these two are some my favorite characters and it makes no sense to me.[/spoiler] And why is suoh suddenly so flirty with everyone? Isn't she on a quest to find her girlfriend? What is she doing, flirting with erika [b]in front of chidori mind you[/b]? The reason for the mass of people leaving because of the bloody mary mistery was also never really explained. Most importantly, why did everyone make SUCH a big deal out of this entire mistery? People are acting as if the world will end if suoh finds out the truth. Yuzuriha and Nerine are basically telling her "You can't handle the truth. Just forget your girlfriend". WTF? Why? You're a bunch of drama queens. That's the real problem. The entire problem of mayuri not being here could have been solved very easily. [spoiler]The cabin where mayuri lives now is only an hour away. Just meet up at night. It's not like suoh is shy of sneaking out after dawn. There. Problem solved.[/spoiler] The biggest flaw was how mayuris come back was handled. Suoh is shown to have vivid hallucinations of her evil stepmother, so [spoiler]when she heard mayuris voice throught the wall i thought it was just another one of her hallucinations. After all why sould i believe she just came back all of a sudden? It's the same thing for when mayuri finally revealed herself during the play. Then it was finally made clear, that she was actually really back now.[/spoiler] So in hindsight some key moments didn't hit me as hard as they should have because of this missleading storytelling. TL;DR My final rating is 8/10 Despite its flaws, this game is a satisfying conclusion to the story. The flowers series was well worth my time and i'm glad i found this hidden gem.
