Update Invisible Man DLC: Same bug issue as with Dracula. Still not recommendable. Update: I cannot recommend this game. Since release of the Dracula DLC the game crashes most of the time and the AI doesn´t attack in Hard Mode. So you can attack the AI and the AI draws itself to death. Its a suicide AI... I wrote Acram but they didn´t react on that. No Update since then. With every new release of DLCs there come new Bugs. Never Acram again! Update: The game is actually very good. Sometimes bugs emerge, but the developer seems to react very soon if contacted. The problems written below are no longer apearing - so i recommend this game now. Update: 1.3.23 Can´t still recommend the game. I love it so much but the official release lead to new (and old) bugs that freezes the game and you cannot end the actual match... Puh, in this stadium of the game it cannot be recommended. 4 fighters and 2 maps are not enough. 1 of the fighters (looking at you king arthur) is totally underwhelming and weak and cannot keep up with the rest of the fighters. At the opposite medusa is totally overpowered - so you have 1 of the strongest and 1 of the weakest fighters in the whole game in that one! So you can only fight serious games with 3! fighters - thats way too less. Hopefully they will add new fighters very soon. At least the bugs are minimized - thats good. Sorry, i love unmatched but this first set has not aged well as a standalone.

Das ist (denke ich) meine erste schlechte Rezension bei 400+ Spielen: Eigentlich ein gutes Spiel. Leider funktionieren seit Tag eins manche Charaktere gar nicht (zB. Rotkäppchen) und das Spiel hängt sich nach den Kämpfen teilweise auf. Man schafft es kaum eine Runde zu beenden, ohne das Spiel neu zu starten. Das ist ein Brett- / Kartenspiel und da sollte man eigentlich schon "flüssiges" Gameplay erwarten können. Evtl liegt es auch an der KI, die die Züge nicht beendet. Die Devs bringen lieber neue Charaktere (kaufbare DLCs) raus, anstatt erstmal das Grundspiel zu fixen. Ich würde es nicht nochmal kaufen. Vielleicht in einem Jahr oder so.

One of the very few decent board game adaptations on Steam. Hard AI is hard enough to force you into playing the strengths and weaknesses of your character. To beat hard AI, you need to understand the role of each card in your deck. The UNMATCHED system is breezy in a good way. Tactics are not rocket science, it's mainly about understanding your own and your opponent's character (with 30 cards per deck - not all of which are unique- that's doable). And yet, there will often be exciting close run situations. And each characters feels unique in their play style. The original boardgame's artwork and character design (lacking expensive IPs) is superb and this adaption builds upon it. The UI does not get in the way and features QOL features (take a look into discard piles, switch between combat display and main map display, undo function, etc). I have to admit though that the game's replay value primarily comes with the number of characters. As you can "understand" and "solve" each match-up (at least vs. the AI), the number of available match-ups matters.

Die Umsetzung des Brettspiels ist grundsätzlich solide. Aber der Preis steht einfach nicht in Relation zum Gebotenen. Dafür ist da zu wenig drin. Zudem ist der Soundtrack eine Zumutung. Einfach lieblos zusammengeschustert. Das macht Dune, bei einem sogar höheren Preis, einfach besser. Da kommt richtig Atmosphäre beim Spielen auf ohne durch unnötige Animationen oder Darstellung seine Herkunft zu leugnen. Bei Unmatched hingegen hätte es etwas mehr sein können: schön animierte Figuren, 3D-Sidekicks und plastische Spielpläne. So reicht es leider nur für ein OK. Mir persönlich einfach zu wenig. Vielleicht geb ich dem Spiel nochmal ne Chance, wenn es für nen 5er zu haben ist.
