It's an old game, do not buy if you highly value good graphs. You'd be disappointed and it simply wouldn't do this old gem justice.
One of the best parts about the game is probably the many possibilites in character creation, many races with a solid amount of different classes combined with chosable runes / traits (mostly passives) and freely distributable attribute points allow for many varied interesting builds.
It's a pvp game where you lose inventory upon dying. Not for loners, best to look for a group or best a guild to play with to fully enjoy PvP
The impact of the ingame cash shop is actually not as bad as it appears at first glance on paper, and a lot of the sudden downvotes are from the recent maintenance issues for 2 days that have already been resolved. Haters, what can you do.
Overall, I highly recommend giving it a shot.
We highly need Shadowbane 2, since this game is pretty outdated by now. A modernized version would be able to pull many players.
