I went into the game not actually reading the instructions, thinking "I will figure it out," and BAM! Dead. Even after reading them, it took a while to get the hang of the gameplay mechanics, but once I actually learned the controls, oh boy, this thing is fun in a weird way. It reminds me of a few rhythm titles I've played, but this is just a fast-paced, casual game to test your reflexes. Once you're into the normal levels with red and blue asteroids, and not being able to shoot them just as you first see them, it becomes a pretty challenging game. It tries to be "a tad" different from similar "defend the Earth" games, and it works!
