Path of the Midnight Sun 评测

英文难度不高，比较好啃（唯一有点阅读难度的可能是某个喜欢说古英语的支线角色）。当然什么时候能出中文就更好了。 A JRPG made by a developer that is no Japanese, which normally would set me on alarm, for there've been quite a few 'western JRPGs' that are not very well received by JRPG fans. But to my surprise, this game seems to successfully comprehend some core essence of JRPGs, well, story-wise at least. I would agree that some plot twists are cliched in this particular genre, but they bring me no less joy, if not more for nostalgic feelings. The combat, however, is kind of clumsy, even though I beat the game in a rather late version (v2.5). Characters are not well balanced. Our muscle dude is overpowered to some extent, who simultaneously is the strongest damage dealer for single target, and the best healer for the team. The debuff-applier archer is rather useless in boss fights, mostly throwing healing potions at teammates. Mob fights can be boring, especially in the first finale, where there're too many waves of same mobs, before the boss kicks in. I'd say I didn't enjoy as much combat-wise, comparing to the story. Oh and, Shiori is best btw.
