My Little Dog Adventure 评测

Gameplay: Lazy level design. Not just because it's a walking simulator. In this game you have to backtrack in some levels and might get lost in others. You walk painfully slow, and you can't toggle sprint (hold shift to sprint only). There's nothing much to see. Maps: The scenery becomes boring after the first minute in each map yet you know there is a long walk ahead and it will look all the same. The map in the fox level could be better if it had a one-way path that takes the player straight back to the starting point but can only be accessed after collecting the last required item. For instance, it can involve an altitude difference, which is common in level design (there might be a term for that but idk). Some levels do not provide enough clear visual or logical hints. Story: It's "simple" at best. It could do better in the rhythm, animation, etc., to carry out the emotional power that it intended to bring. That fox called me a "big dork" at least 4 times in a row... Was that supposed to be cute? I cringed. Music: As much as I love synthwave, the music feels a bit odd with this game. Doesn't really match the atmosphere imo. (Isn't a big deal compare to the rest.) Performance: Optimization is bad. As much as it supports high refresh rate and ran at a stable "160 fps" according to what Steam interface showed, it did not look that smooth. I suffered motion sickness. The mouse cursor is always visible when controlling the camera... quite upsetting. The game supports ultra-wide resolutions, which I appreciate. Overall this is a janky low cost game, 5/10. I would only recommend it if you love everything animal and when it costs not more than $ 1.
