It feels like an accidental love letter to all those late 90s/early 2000s Sci-Fi Flash games on Newgrounds, from the blocky vector art to the lovingly-detailed creatures and gore, to the lack of basic functionality (the Use key is "b", by the way) and game-breaking bugs. I would have liked to play more, but the devs forgot to disable the barriers to the boss room in case the player dies.
An interesting mess.
