Easy, mindless game. Great for killing time.

Great very quick card game. 3-4 hours for most.

A simply fun game, exactly two hours of game play from start to finish for me, short, but enjoyable. Apparently it is part of a longer story, but this installment is relatively self contained, once you get past the intro. Not knowing the main story certainly had no impact on the game play. If I were to use one word for this game, it would be relaxed. There is never anything at stake (despite the often very dramatic music) everything simply flows along, no matter how well or poorly you do. Game play is the fairly basic one-higher-one-lower card play. The game uses a full deck, ace thru king (wrapping around) with suits, however suits mean nothing, it is all about the value. You get a few power-ups, but as there isn't even a way to go back and replay a less than perfect round (aside from replay) their use is very optional. There is a simple story, you build a town (no choices though, everything in a pre-determined order) and not all of them even do anything, so some do. Monsters come along from time to time, and you charge up your macguffin by playing the game some more. There are also relics you collect, which are pretty, but do nothing. In fact, if I were to offer up one real weakness here, it would be the fluff. The art is wonderful, often evocative (though blurry on my screen for some reason. This doesn't seem to be the case with everyone though.) but there is a sense of disappointment in the fact that none of it has a story or a meaning. I find this particularly true in the relics, and in the face-cards, the characters seem delightful, I would read a book about them, no question, but they are nothing more than interesting pictures. I find the lack of fluff odd, because it is one aspect of the game that doesn't require programming skills, or even artistic skills, but they can add so much to the game. That said, the game delivered what I expected, though I would have liked it to have been longer. As old as it is, nothing is going to change, but I think I paid a buck for it? And I got my moneys worth.

This Solitaire game has great graphics, an outstanding musical score (really, it is beautiful!) and a fun story. Just a really pleasant way to pass time--easy on the eyes and ear. Very enjoyable!

If you are looking for a peaceful Solitaire game with not much challenge... well you found it! Actually, it sounds pretty good when you just want to relax and not care about real life that much. The graphics/music/SFX are pretty. You can even set the background as your own desktop! Apparently this was the third game, but you can play them out of order (I think... Or just play them and put the story line together in the end). In this one you first rebuild the kingdom... and then you save it! The knights/warriors said they will fight for you, but you do all the work. Why? Because you got magic and they can only melee upfront and the enemies are too scary for that kind of tactic. There are cut scenes too. Didn't expect that one, but it was cool. Alright, so obviously you play Solitaire games the entire time, but to switch it up you get different... "Quests" (Let's just go with that). Sometimes you gotta buy buildings or make a relic (they are just for looking at, but they are pretty) and of course you gotta fight those pesky enemies! Do you have to clear the board like in many other Solitaire games? Well, remember I said this is for a more relaxing game play? I meant it. You don't have to. Unless you want extra gold (for building levels) and/or a perfectionist... then that's up to you. As long as you find what they tell ya (There is also a hint button if you feel even lazier. :) ), then you are good to go. I would have wanted the gold goals to be higher and even the "Quest" items to go up in number the higher you climb in levels... but I wasn't bored and wasn't pressured, so they did things right. About bugs... (No game is perfect okay!) if you find a key to unlock the chains or an axe (I think I only got one single axe level though), DO NOT PRESS THE UNDO BUTTON. DON'T DO IT. You will never ever open the chains/leaves ever, ever again! Also, they might glitch on their own (which rarely happens) and sometimes your "helping tools" (the ones above your cards, like the sword) refuse to take a card out, but that's also rare... but it happens. Just be wary. Don't panic! Either go on or hit the restart button. So overall, if you are a quick player: you will fly through this game. If you take it easy and just steadily enjoy it, you will get things out of it. However, you be the judge if you should play the game or not.
