A strong civilisation with powerful units able to be kept mobile from both unit and the civilisation bonus. The scenario, 1066: Year of Viking Destiny, involves four factions battling for domination of the British Isles.

A great dlc that diversifies the gameplay well. But it's better to take it with the rest of the dlc at a discount.

Táto recenzia je v Anglickom a Slovenskom jazyku:
This game has so much DLC for several times the price of the base game that I don't recommend this DLC because of developer greed, regardless of its content.
Táto hra obsahuje toľko veľa DLC za sumu niekoľko násobne vyššiu ako je cena základnej hry, že toto DLC neodporúčam z dôvodu chamtivosti vývojára, bez ohľadu na jeho obsah.

Actually insane, this is the craziest crossover in gaming history. Take it in ladies and gentlemen, because this is where humanity has peaked. Everything we have done. All the trials and tribulations. The blood, the sweat, and the tears. All of what we have endured throughout the ages has led to this one momentous event.

Fun civ to have around.
Its a bit old at this point so I would recommend getting it on sale as a part of the Complete Bundle to get everything.

Great new civ to the game. Denmark is a great new civ to play as, and gives you new stratagys. He is defently a power house at the begining of the game, and will lead you to victory. One of the best civ's you can play as. 8/10

This Civilization V DLC is called Civilization and Scenario Pack: Denmark - The Vikings (a mouthful, isn't it?)
Anyway. Denmark is obviously a domination-focused civ with cool Viking stuff. Their unique ability, Viking Fury, lets them fight quickly and effectively:
* Embarked units have +1 Movement and pay just 1 movement point to move from sea to land - not the other way around! No fleeing back to the sea for the Norsemen. Good for early game exploration and settling as well.
* Melee units pay no movement point cost to pillage. You had better upgrade your Berserkers if you still want to Viking it up.
However, apart from the cool factor - they have Berserkers replacing Longswordsmen and a war theme with Viking horns for pete's sake - Denmark is actually fairly mediocre for a domination civ.
I mean, they're certainly fun, and of course if you time a Berserker invasion right you'll smash stuff up. But, Denmark is kind of a one trick pony (that pony actually being a frothing half-naked warrior) and it takes a little while to get there. Once you do, at least there's not much that can stop you for a while apart from premier naval powers - watch out for the Ottomans, English and Dutch.
If the opportunity is available, you can pretty much blitzkrieg strategic locations a thousand years before the Germans could. It's all very nice, to be sure, but ultimately Denmark is middle of the pack: it isn't quite as versatile or powerful as some other domination civs, and its abilities are only really focused on domination to begin with.
It's probably not a civ you want to play on Deity, or on maps with comparatively large amounts of land. Although you could probably raid the coasts and build a seaside empire, jungles and forests will still give Denmark trouble.
Norwegian Ski Infantry are good if you can maneuver them to take advantage of their terrain bonuses, and are good as a late-game supplement you can actually upgrade to from Berserkers...but are still not quite as thrilling as Berserkers. For best results, rush Metal Casting and open up the Honor, Exploration and/or Liberty policies to support your military.
Denmark's AI is obviously pretty aggressive, but if you can get on its good side they will remain very good friends, even if not especially if the player is also a warmonger. And what a good thing too: Harald Bluetooth's leader screen is pretty rad, even if his helmet is historically inaccurate. The unique longboat graphic for embarked units is cool too, for what that's worth.
The included '1066: Year of Viking Destiny' scenario is rather neat. Although it's almost entirely combat-focused and uses the pre-GnK 10 HP combat system, it's still enjoyable playing out the events of the Norman invasion of England. Note that the Domesday Shire Court counter isn't bugged, it shows you how many Shire Courts the civ who owns London has. You can't win without London, so this is the sensible way to show who's close to winning.
Overall, I would still recommend this if you somehow didn't get the complete pack, are a domination-focused player and want to become a glorious Viking. If you're not any of these, however, I'd actually give a 'mixed' rating to this DLC if only Steam would let me.
Fun trivia: this DLC was actually priced at negative 2 cents during 2015's summer sale. People got paid to download this civ!

-Quick Review-
The Civilization and Scenario Pack: Denmark – The Vikings adds the civilization “Denmark” and it's leader Harald Bluetooth to the Civilization V mix, and the Scenario “1066: Year of the Viking Destiny”.
-Detailed breakdown review-
Story: The 1066: Year of the Viking Destiny Scenario is one of my personal favorites, you take place in a 4-way-tug-of-war between England, Norway, Denmark, and Normandy. The objective is to build six Domesday Shire Courts, then complete the Domesday Book in London.
Depending on which faction you chose, the strategy slightly changes but the over all goal is the same; Conquest of the English Mainland and push back the other Usurpers! Each faction has it's own abilities and some even have special units which are only experienced in this scenario.
Gameplay: The Danish civilization abilities make them far more suited to a domination victory, the sooner you get out to sea and dominate the ocean, the sooner you can control the game. Naturally this means that if you're landlocked, one of your best exploration abilities are for naught...
The unique Units the Danish have are the Beserker (which replaces the Longswordsman), and the Norwegian Ski Infantry (replacing the rifleman). The abilities for the Danish are: Embarked units have +1 movement and pay just 1 movement point to move from sea to land. Melee units also pay no movement point cost to pillage.
Achievements: There are about nine achievements associated with the “1066: Year of the Viking Destiny” Scenario. I suggest buckling down and look up some guides for this one, because you need to beat this scenario on the hardest difficulty. There are also two achievements relating to the Danish civilization; beat the game, and enter a snow tile with the Norwegian ski infantry.
Price: Civilization and Scenario Pack: Denmark – The Vikings is priced at $4.99, by far the best DLC deal on steam is the Civilization V: Complete Edition for $49.99.
Conclusion: In conclusion, I do have a bias for both the scenario and the civilization; Some of the first computer games I played were medieval-based strategy games. Additionally the Danish Embarked +1 movement ability compliments my play style. Lastly, Harald Bluetooth is a cheerful chipper fellow, I can't help but like him!
In all seriousness, this DLC was pretty good, and I did spend at least 4 hours playing it, I'd suggest waiting for a sale before purchasing, or better yet, getting all the DLC in one big bundle on sale.

The Vikings is my favorite DLC for Civ V thus far. The scenario it comes was fun enough to play 3 times (as 3 different factions) and the Danes are, of course, an excellent choice to either play as or try to best in a single player game.
