bad english translation from the start, can't recommend it even though the mechanics looks fun it's just too much to digest.

good unknown souls-like. almost everything is translated (can be easily understood) except for some cryptic notes you can find and boss death screens. takes around 20 hours to beat. this game is mostly linear and isnt very hard but i've also made a beginner guide on steam. i dont know what this game has to do with metatron.
theres damage scaling similar to Dark Souls, 3 groups of magic, classes and the other usual stuff. theres also a world map and a smaller area map which is uncommon in souls-likes. enemy variety is good, bosses are interesting. story is simple but there is more lore in item descriptions. some bosses are a bit bullet hell but thats expected in a top-down game. rest points are plenty and you never have to run too far back to the boss. almost every main boss has a 2nd phase, but i think they are well balanced so fights dont take too long. areas are simple and not annoying.
the best magic type, at least to me, uses health instead of mana. i dont like this because it shouldnt have best spells and you only have to upgrade health which you would do anyway. i think most magic and special boss weapon skills are also underpowered. i played pure melee my first time, but i wouldve played again if magic was more worth using. multi projectile attacks are too powerful, most of them can kill you if you are at melee range. there are maybe 6-10 weapons for each type. i didnt mind using 2 straight swords for almost the whole game but there isnt much weapon variety because most are just not very good.
i played on 1080p/16:9 so i dont know if it supports anything higher. it seems to be capped at 120 fps. theres supposed to be 4 endings but i only found 3. i strongly recommend this as a souls-like, especially if you like more linear games. its not as hard as dark souls so i think it wont be too frustrating for most players. there are very few top-down souls-likes, so i could recommend just for that. it might not be suitable for those who dont like top-down or achievement hunters (achievements arent properly named and have no description)

It might be one of the few tines i post a review before i finished the game but it might help some people.
First of all, it's not really clear but most of the game (like 95%) is actually translated to english! Besides a couple of lore messages found on the floor, everything else is translated. The game will start in Chinese but you can switch to English from the menu (2nd line, than 3rd line in the next window if i remember well)
Second, it's a pretty good and TOUGH top down Soulslike. Combat is a bit clunky but you get used to it after a while.
You have the usual classes, stats, weapons and status effects at your disposal. Pretty simple and efficient, well done.
Story is a bit obscure like a good Soulslike too.
The difficulty is where i kinda hesitate between super good and crappy haha!
Most bosses have attacks that can one or 2 shots you. It's doable to beat them but it just makes the pattern learning process so tedious! At least it is for me...
Sometimes you'll die on the first or second attack...which makes it pretty tough to learn, and some bosses have several phases also! Even more reasons to get your ass kicked before you've even see all the attacks and recognized any pattern.
But in the whole i have fun struggling and navigating in this heavy and hostile environement.
I got it on sale so i can't complain
