I thought I had Heartbound in my library but it was actually Heartbeat so now I feel a lot better about myself

as a fan of Pokemon Romhack I had to try this one, the mechanic is fresh, Pulse is HP, Beat is MP and Heartbeat is your "bond" that grow stronger as you fight and can be used for powerful attacks.
the story goes your average pokemon rpg but does pose lots of self questions about the relationships between your "pets" (they can talk) and humans, they willingly bond to you vs being captured and subdued. THE DIALOGUES ARE SO FUNNY T-T <3
one thing I really love that's missing from all the romhack I've played are the facial expressions of all the NPCs and my MCs as well, they're super funny.
I'm still at the start of the game (to beat the first boss try to level up at least lv5 your party and learn its pattern of attacks) but will update this review if the game loses steam after a while.
Update 1:
Not a fan of the 30+ status effect and somewhat confusing elemental weakness but I'm slowly getting items to consult to check on them instead of using the Wiki (I'm doing a blind run). also yes the minibosses are really tough but nothing overleveling can't get you tru, I guess I got too used to exploiting pokemons mechanics to beat legendaries even underleveled, this game is not like that, or at least I haven't found out yet.
