Mind-numbing to the core.
Take a vertical scrolling shooter, or SHMUP, and make it move at a snail's pace, with a repetitive soundtrack, the most monotone art style and color palette imaginable, and the least creative gameplay you could possible come up with, and you have Wings of Virtus.
There's not much else to say about it, mostly because there's not much else to it. You have a shield barrier, you have extra lives, you can shoot enemies and collect points...That's it. You could do better with Black Hornet for the Commodore 64, which was nearly 40 years ago.
