fun game if u like strategy games like clash royale in mobile. u just put ur troops and see them fight. the strategy is where u put ur troops (cards). usually there are 3 path : left, middle, right. and then they would meet the enemies's troops on the way and battling. put air units against ground units, put archers against air units, put fast ground units against archer, put a big lone knight with splash attacks against a group of ground weak troops, etc. u unlock more cards as u play with (buying unlock of the cards with the money u got from playing). and there are several (umm lets call it) options to attach. so like u can attach an option to archer to make their attack doubled at the cost of half their health, or make a slow catapult to move faster at the cost of slow attacking, and so on. I saw 1 of the review said that the table is too high (the table at their nose ?). I was helped that I played brass tactics demo before, so the mechanic is similar. u just place both ur hands on the table, and then push both grips, then moved ur hands down (or left/right/up) to move the table to a place that u want. so even ur small child could play this game if he/she wants. if u have the table at the height that u want already, u can moved across the table with 1 on ur hand on the table, pull the grip, and then just pull the table. for example if u pull the table to ur back, then u would move to the front of the table. Bad thing is this feels a little bit rough (not smooth). I hoped the developer would copy the way brass tactics (only available on oculus atm) did as it is very smooth there (but seeing that there's no update for a year, this game might not received any more updates). this would be more fun if the multiplayer is active as well. but I tried to search for opponents couple of times for 20 mins and found no one. there is info about clans and tournaments so there should be lots of people playing (maybe?) but I just can't find any match, and lots of reviews here told the same thing about dead multiplayer. I hoped the multiplayer could become active as this kind of game would be a blast with active multiplayer but even if it's not, the AI is good enough. Got my ass kicked several times by normal AI (and there's the harder AI). well I just got beginner deck though. needs lots of grinding to get those better cards. and I mean LOTS. lets say when u win a match u get like 250 gold, or about 99 gold when u lost. A card can be unlocked at about 1000 - 4000 gold. and there are lots of cards to unlock. so u're guarantee to play (grind) this game for lots of hours updated : yesterday at last found an opponent. fight 6 times (all with the same person), with 4 times the opponent just surrender/disconnect at the start of the game. 2 times won. feels so good. and the winning gold is 1000. woohoo. it's 4x more than the match with npc. too bad there's not enough people playing this. cmon people, u need play this and become my opponent :D

Heaps of fun, really cool to watch the little fellas battle it out, and a really deep tactical game where you can smash someone above your level, but get beaten by someone below you just based off choice of units, really cool game

If they ever updated or patched the game - it'd be a positive review - but it is abandonware. Worse? It's actually kind of fun. Not worth ten bucks in its abandonware form, unfortunately, as it requires other players.

Like any emulation of p2w mobile mechanics, it feels humongous grinding to do anything in it. And like any indie type game the player base does not fill the servers enough to have an equitable matchmaking. Basically if you are a new player to the franchise, like me, you will have to grind your way into the first online match(no, not the competitive ones). In my first game, against a player, I was swamped by the other player with units, units that I would dream to have in my first 10 min play, and melted everything I put on the table. One unit killed everything I had in less than 30 sec. Big dislike, it's not an new problem this type of interaction, quake 4 suffered from it in the same way, it is disappointing that the dev's don't really care about it, and sad because instead this game to be a hook tword the other one that is priced higher and gives a more of a complete experience (from what i read) it is having, for me, the opposite effect. If you are new to the title go buy the other title instead, myself I will avoid them all together, for now.

Decent game with fun character design and balance but pretty casual. Too casual to go through the effort of putting a VR head set on for. Now if this was a flat screen / mobile game, it'd be solid.

First Impressions. Will update after 2 hrs play. Can recommend for the following reasons: 1. Price is low. 2. Is exactly what I expected it to be based on store page and gameplay video. That being said, the maps are too small, the gameplay does not appear to be very deep (hopefully they will be adding more cards), and the chunky art style is not appealing to me (too childish). If you like VR strategy games, add it to your collection, but there are better ones to buy first.

I am enjoying this game immensely, it's a 3 lane push type game with an intuitive interface and controls.

You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/qcRuoHtaM2U
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
I tried the OG Skyworld on a free to play weekend and I really didn't like it enough to purchase it. When I saw this game come out today on the Steam store I wasn't too excited, but I've been wanting a card game to play in VR so I thought I might as well take a chance on it given the low price. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised. This game basically takes all the best aspects of OG Skyworld and simplifies the game into quick 1 v 1 card skirmishes against either AI or multiplayer opponents. The AI so far hasn't been the best (would love to see a single player campaign mode with better AI added), but it's been a blast playing against online players. The queues have been relatively quick and battles have been intense. I'll be honest, I've lost way more times than I've won. I'm still getting the strategy down, but the battles are usually quick and hopefully, the lessons learned just as fast. You do unlock cards as you go along by paying coin you earn through playing. You can also unlock cosmetic items for your avatar (although I'm still not sure how you earn them other than it's MP related). And obviously, you can throw hand signals to your opponent (no voice chat though). The game runs smoothly. The only issue I've encountered is when exiting the game, the game doesn't want to shut down so I have to quit Steam entirely. I hope that issue gets patched soon. The graphics are good. The animations are nice. There are several different playing fields. I hope they also add different background environments in the future (outside the playing field). I also hope they add more card types in the future so there is more depth to the gameplay. For example, I would love to set up turrets or trap cards. Maybe the ability to strengthen your tower as well. Rate 7.5/10. I basically played this game for almost 3 hours straight, which is rare for me in VR.

I found it fun, but no one is playing this game. Took forever to find a match and when I did I ended up facing the same guy 4 times in a row.

Do get the original Skyworld game. I loved that game! From art style to varied gameplay and the war room design. This Kingdowm Brawl is a stripped down version without the turn based gameplay that I loved as a Civilization fan. They focused on the deck building part and made it the typical chore. I dislike this grind/pay to win game design just to inflate player engagement. No strategy to manage resources, just grinding and frustrating waste of time until maybe one day you unlocked it all so you can make a fair strategy. Also it was so nice when resources weren't filled with zeros after them coins just to make small payoffs seem rewarding. Even if they iterated on Skyworld to make it more grindy, I say it turned out a game a lot shallower than the original. I can appreciate fast loading and upfront menus. But the tabletop got boring alternating only between menu and battlefield. To top it all, this one seems to have always online design. After 2 games against AI, I couldn't press any buttons probably due to connection issues as Brawl was stuck with Cancel and wouldn't be pressed anyway. And I remind you that all I wanted was to play alone against AI. With VR struggling to maintain players active, I have to wonder how long the server will be sustainable. So yeah, go ahead and get Skyworld 1. It will be one of your best VR experiences. But don't bother with Skywrold Kingdom Brawl unless you are a social player and don't mind getting your buttons pushed. I really dislike when the game tries to play me.
