Super fun and nostalgic game! Overall it’s not a hard game so it’s a relaxing experience, though there are a few challenging levels. Colorful and funny. I really enjoyed playing this as an adult after playing it as a child. My only complaint is that it doesn’t really have split screen co-op so that felt like false marketing. The only local co-op is a horde clearing type of level, not the main story. My partner and I got around this by just switching off every so often to play together.

hehe good game. Enjoyed until the end. Though direction sometimes could be confusing. For example, you can do missions earlier than expected to be visited and done at the later moments. If you like platformers and Sponge bob then you will like this game

extremely casual puzzle/platformer, if you played the original you'll know if you'd like this, but generally this is a run-of-the-mill collectathon set in the spongebob universe. not too bad but nothing groundbreaking by any means.

Game Review: SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated Developer: Purple Lamp Studios Publisher: THQ Nordic Platform(s): PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch Release Date: June 23, 2020 Introduction: SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated is a nostalgic yet polished revival of the beloved 2003 platformer, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom. A fan-favorite title from the early 2000s, it garnered a cult following for its engaging, accessible gameplay and the charm of the SpongeBob franchise. The "Rehydrated" version breathes new life into the classic with updated visuals, voice acting, and a few new additions. But does it live up to the high standards set by its original release? Let’s dive in! Gameplay and Mechanics: At its core, Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated is a 3D platformer that channels the spirit of Super Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie, placing players in the shoes (or square pants) of SpongeBob as he tries to save Bikini Bottom from an army of evil robots created by the villainous Plankton. The game features a wide array of levels that are both charming and fun, with each one offering a mix of platforming challenges, puzzle-solving, and collectibles. The updated version maintains the same solid gameplay, enhanced with a modern coat of paint. SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy each have distinct abilities that players must use to navigate levels and defeat enemies. The combat mechanics are simple yet satisfying, with tight platforming controls that hold up even today. One notable change is the inclusion of a new "robot battle" mode, which expands on the combat and provides a fun new layer of depth for completionists. The levels are designed with a lot of creativity, filled with quirky humor and callbacks to the show, all while staying true to the platforming roots of the original game. Whether you’re collecting Golden Spatulas, solving environmental puzzles, or just soaking in the world, there’s plenty of content to keep you entertained. Visuals and Audio: The most significant improvement in Rehydrated is the visual upgrade. The graphics have been completely overhauled to bring Bikini Bottom and its residents to life in vibrant, high-definition detail. The colorful, cartoonish aesthetic of the original is preserved, but the textures and animations are sharper and more fluid, making it a visually stunning experience for fans of the franchise. The character models are faithful to the original design, yet feel fresh and full of personality. The voice acting is another highlight. Most of the original cast returns, and their performances bring a true sense of authenticity to the game. The humor from the SpongeBob series translates seamlessly into the game, with quirky dialogue and fun interactions between characters. The sound design, from the ambient sounds to the catchy background music, complements the visuals perfectly, helping to immerse players in the world of Bikini Bottom. Additional Features and Improvements: The Rehydrated edition doesn’t just serve as a graphical upgrade; it also introduces some new features. A standout is the multiplayer mode, which allows players to team up with friends for cooperative gameplay. It’s a fun addition but doesn’t significantly alter the core experience. That being said, it does offer an enjoyable diversion if you're looking to team up and take on the robot menace together. The Rehydrated version also includes a full remaster of the original game’s soundtrack, which sounds fantastic and adds even more charm to the game. Score: 8.5/10 SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated is a wonderful remake that captures the magic of the original while giving it a fresh coat of paint. If you’re a fan of platformers, or even just a SpongeBob fan, this game is well worth your time. It’s funny, and packed with heart—just like the show itself!

SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom is a fun and colorful platformer that brings the classic SpongeBob adventure back to life. The game lets you explore famous locations, solve puzzles, and defeat the robot enemies. It’s easy to play and not that difficult to understand, making it enjoyable for players of all ages. Fans of the show will enjoy the remastered graphics and updated gameplay. The only downside is the multiplayer mode but besides that I have no problem with this game. In my opinion it's a solid title and a really fun one to play.
