Fun little game for at least two-three hours, after which it gets boring due to the progressively harder and harder level reaching design and with essentially the same game play all the way.
No upgrades but only once at every milestone - reaching level 15, 30 and so on. And only one upgrade. So yeah, fun until you have reached a certain level and then wonder what is the point, because you are doing the same for hours now, and the next milestone is still hours from reach. You can buy extra helps, like lower the air drag by 10% first, then 5% for double the price, then 2.5% for the double again, but you reach a price tag real quick where you cannot buy them any more, and also that 2.5-5% extra really has no visible effect at all. There are many different effects, and you are not buying upgrade points for them separately, but science points, which can be spent on all of them, and the price doubles after each purchase. Upgraded a few effects to 10-15% extra and already the science point is too expensive to buy..
Probably the way for me to play it from now on is starting it when I have some empty minutes after a long day.
Definitely grab it, because a flying penguin with a coke-mentos bottle rocket and a cardboard cape on its back is fun.

Far too many obstacles and hindrances right off the bat. You make it like 10 feet before you are eaten by a seal, smashed into ice, fall through ice, etc... Also the early upgrades you get are basically useless and it is almost impossible to earn money. Perhaps if they greatly lowered the early game difficulty it could be fun but at the moment it just isn't.

I have mixed feelings. On one hand it's addicting. "Just one more run", on the other the controls are a bit convoluted and the camera angles it uses make it hard to even utilize the 'absorb' thing well. Especially early on when it barely has any energy. And the game starts super slow and takes awhile before you feel like you make consistent progress.
But it's fun overall and I enjoy it. So I'd recommend it.

Didn't expect much, was blown away by how simple and addicting the gameplay is!
Feels like a throwback to the old days of Icy Tower, Moorhuhn and similar titles while being innovative and new along the way, also rewards you for good runs.
The game is worth it's price, give it a fair shot and have a good time, ideally hot-seating with a friend of choice!

Surprisingly, it's actually a pretty good game :)
I don't think I need to explain what's it's about :P ... But you have "science" points (you gain 1 every level, and you can buy more with money) which allow you to increase bonuses (more money crates, more rocket boost, and so on), or decrease others (less drag, less obstacles and so on). You also have several items which can be bought (helmet, rocket, wings, ...) to help you go farther.
There are only 2 problems with this game :
- the progression is much too slow, whether in experience points or in money. Currently, after 17 hours, I'm barely above level 70 (the "endgame" being level 100, it seems, but you'll probably have to keep playing beyond that if you want to have all high level items), and I can't even buy all items for this level. And the more you advance, the longer your flights will be, making it even slower.
- I don't like the fact that the camera will get to the side the higher you fly. In such cases, you don't see ahead, making any kind of "strategy" (using wings to avoid birds) completely impossible.
Other than that, good fun overall, no bugs as far as I can tell, recommended.

I bought it because I like penguins but I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out that this game is genuinely awesome. Your goal is to progress as far along a given route as possible. At the start, you slide down a ramp and then continue on an obstacle course. You will unlock skins through leveling and power-ups & gear can be leveled via the research station. You can also influence the spawn rate of different objects.
This game is physics based, friction, velocity your angle etc. all are taken into account on your quest to fly as far as possible.
The graphics are adorable and there's no microtransactions. There are promo codes which give you a discount on your research, but you can find those in-game.
Of course the setting is a little bit silly, because penguins do actually fly in reality (albeit under water).
Ever seen them shoot out of the water like little rocket ships? Before they do that, they surface momentarily and spread their wings while opening up their feathers. Thereby they trap air beneath the feathers.
Then, they dive deep down, thus compressing the trapped oxygen.
When they want to surface, they open up their feathers a tiny bit, thus letting the compressed oxygen escape and form a very thin bubble around them. To accelerate, they simply *fly* through the tiny layer of air that surrounds them.
10/10 would purchase again, this game left a smile on my face. Such fun.
edit: this game supports ultrawide resolutions
