very poorly done

Halloween Puzzles might just be the greatest video game I've ever played. The enthusiasm and creativity of the developers is remarkably inspiring. The game revolutionizes the genre, by adding a infinite scaling difficulty, which allows for great replay value. Halloween Puzzles is my favorite game, and I cannot wait to see the upcoming and elusive sequel, Elden Puzzles!

(reviewed: 2020-03-21) positives+++ +Pieces snaps to the board and to each other. Neutral~~~ ~I feel like the scroll is in reverse. You need to scroll up to see all images instead of down. Maybe put a setting to reverse it so that if people like the other way around they can change a setting about it? negatives--- -No achievements -When placing the pieces on the board, ordering layer of unplaced pieces changes. It's a bit weird, I think it's a bug. -Puzzle progression is not saved. -UI is not very pretty. Scroll bar hasn't even been changed from the default unity scroll bar. -Sliding puzzle should let the user place piece even if the last piece has not finished its animation. It's not fun to have to wait for every sliding animation to complete before sliding the next piece. -Images choices is not really good. About half of them are forest and houses, the other half is anything with pumpkins. Some are photos, some are drawing. Most of them doesn't feel like good puzzle image choice (lots of trees, sky with one color, element that look the same, blurry background). -This feels more like a unity test than a real game. I mean, following a tutorial, one could create this in a few days. -When doing a 2 x 2 sliding puzzle, it can happen that all pieces are already in the right spot. Clicking trigger display of "complete" text, but there should be a validation to be sure they are well shuffled. -When doing a puzzle and clicking "game menu", it goes back to the menu, but the scroll bar position has not been saved and you need to scroll all the way up to where you where to continue browsing different image. -Fullscreen is missing some pixels around making it not fully full screen. You can play the sames 85 images in 3 different ways: jigsaw puzzle pieces where all pieces are there at the start, jigsaw puzzle pieces where 1 piece is shown at a time with the reference image in alpha on the board and a sliding rectangle pieces puzzle. I think this game is more like a proof of concept of a puzzle game and need much more polishing to be entertaining and fun. I don't recommend this game.

Was enjoying this game for a while then accidentally clicked GAME MENU when a puzzle was almost done. Lost current puzzle progress and which puzzle I was working. Exited the game & when I came back in, even the number of puzzle pieces was lost. Apparently no save whatsoever for game progress. Although there are 3 types of puzzles, jigsaw is the only one that appeals to me. +some nice pix +puzzle pieces snap-to-back -some black & white pix -no gallery to view completed pix -no save (killer for me) -no Steam achievements or trading cards (but may come later?)
