How does this run worse on PC and MAC than on an old android phone? Actually curious.

An utter waste of time stemming from the seemingly paradoxical design choices of this game.
The following are observed:
- Map size is limited. Perhaps performance is a concern, which can be valid depending on the playing computer.
- Progression is exponentially more difficult. This is expected for a progression game such as this one.
- Resources produced from regional maps are discounted, which means it is always better to stuff everything to the main map.
When playing single-player mode, the above leads to extreme grinding/AFKing when the game gets to late-game. The billions of research points requirements just isn't calibrated for a medium-sized map of e.g. 100x100.
This was never a problem in the past when the default map size was huge (perhaps I misremembered) since the player can always go wide and build more to make up for the exponential progression.
Another observed problem is certain resources are seemingly unimportant, and it feels like their existence is just to gate progression. Example is Pottery, which is virtually unused except for building high-tier buildings; or perhaps Paintings, which is even more un-obvious. This bloats the resource menu and makes it quite difficult to see the whole picture.
I played this game many years ago when it was still in alpha/beta, and I was glad to have rediscovered this recently. However, it is very disappointing to see this game is a waste of time. After about 150 hours on a single save-game, as the United Earth Empire on a Lunar 100x100 map, I still cannot arrive at the Nanite stage (billions of research points?!), and the game still hasn't hinted what Weapons of Mass Destruction, Salt Water, and Cobalt is even supposed to be used. There are clearly more in the game, but at this point, it is clearly not worth the time and effort.
Therefore, would not recommend.

Really fun colony builder sim with some multiplayer elements, but mostly just single player. Other players can help with resource gifts
