Deca Reviews
It is a horror game, developed inside the psychiatric hospital Deca. Our protagonist wakes up disoriented, bloody, and unable to remember what she does there. Everything is dark, but she can see corpses lying on the floor and she hears noises, which leads her to think that she is alone.

I'll admit that when I first started playing Deca I actually got a little upset with it. I lost a ton of progress because of the way the save system works and I was just really confused about what I was supposed to do. Once I came back to it, I decided to go into one or two rooms and then run back and save it to make sure I kept my progress. Once I adopted that strategy, everything started to go much better. I was able to uncover more of the story, I was able to figure out what I needed to do, and I was able to open up a good bit more of the map. It definitely has some scares and so far, has been really, really good. I'm excited to see where it goes.
If you'd like to see more or you're on the fence, I've started uploading a series to Youtube that you can check out and decide for yourself whether or not it looks like something you might want to try:

This game was pretty fun I must say. If I had to compare it to anything other horror game it would be Outlast.
Same concept, You run from the monster, but the only issue is there is NOWHERE you can jump in except the safe room where you start, So you will find yourself constanly running all the way back there. You can however hide behind stuff, but you HAVE to be completely hidden or the AI will still see you.
There are a few bugs with the AI seeing you through some walls, but that only happened a few times, but other than that, I had no issues, and the game is completely playable.
I did a complete playthrough on my horror game channel if you wish to just watch the whole game! Merry Christmas!

So a friend of mine recommended this one so I decided to give it a try on stream for my audience. The game is basically a BTEC Outlast and isn't terrible, some great jump scares and it does start out pretty good. Enemy variation is decent although the chase scenarios can get a little tedious after a while. Although the game does have puzzles they're only made difficult by the enemies chasing you around whilst you try to complete them. The story line doesn't make a huge amount of sense but the twist is pretty obvious early on. The game is pretty long although it isn't cheap, the repetitive chases are what make it last as long as it is. There are a few bugs here and there although it's not a mess and very playable but don't be surprised if you fall out of the map once in a while or get stuck.
As always with my review I allowed my chat to add one line to the review so you get different honest opinions from different people with a little comedic value thrown in for good measure.

If you trawl the depths of the steam horror tag pit you will occasionally strike gold, and I'm pleased to inform you that this is certainly a find.
It won't set your world on fire but it's very competently done horror. There's variety in environments and enemy. The sound design is good. There is more gore and blood than you can shake a fist at. It's not a jump-scare-fest. It just forces you to exist in a grim, oppressive world, hiding from stalking horrors. Though the English translation unfortunately is every bit as dodgy as you'd expect from steam budget horrors. And the story is very bog-standard. But that isn't what you're here for. Overall it's a good game, no bugs, and a thumbs up from me.
Though I will say the price tag certainly does raise an eyebrow. I got it half off, and I thought that was fair enough a price as there was enough length and variety to be found here. Although it's certainly false advertising on the store page to say it will take you 8-10 hours. It will take you half that. And that's with repeating sections due to a moderate number of failures. But that's fine, that's decent for an indie title. I'd expect 8-10 hours if it were a triple-A full priced release, so they get a pass for that. They just shouldn't exaggerate about it on the steam page.
So if you can look past that dev faux pas, there's a lot to like here.

This game should be titled "Fumbling Around in the Dark" because that's precisely what you do. I have never seen a game that is so dark you can barely see anything. The lantern is also a joke and barely lights at all. There is also no gamma or brightness option. This game also starts Steam-VR, you cannot remap the controls, movement is clunky, camera movement is not smooth, and you have no objectives or any idea where to go or what to do, except fumble around in the pitch dark. Overall, this is a very cheap horror experience that I cannot recommend.

This is where I need an in-between button for recommending this game. Read the review and decide for yourself. I'm going to not recommend it because I, subjectively, did not enjoy it after a while. I basically "rage quit" at the corridors with the pipes.
Positive:
The game is well done and the atmosphere is spot on creepy. So really good job! The enemies are also very nicely designed and they put a lot of stress on you, in a good way ^^
I loved the game the first 2 hours.
Negative:
My problem is the "labyrinths" that seems to get bigger by every "level" you get too. I have big problems with finding my way and it gets more and more frustrating the deeper into the game I get. So here is where I would want an in-between recommending button. Because some might really enjoy this type of game, while some, like myself, hate it. I rather solve puzzles etc than running around in corridors while being chased.
I'm really torn.

I wanna start this review off by mentioning the millions of outlast clones that fail miserably to capture the sense or paranoia and dread outlast gave the gaming community so many years ago. If you're looking for something oppressive and incredibly stressful then to be honest, YOU FOUND IT! This is the first game in a long time that actually captured the sense of dread you feel when trying to solve a puzzle while the AI is out hunting for you literally right outside your room. Player be warned the puzzles are very obscure. But fair. Also there are no autosaves so you will need to get back to the save point. So be aware of that. The graphics are up to par but not stellar. The minor irritation of this game mainly stem from the impossibility to actually survive long chases. Unlike outlast you don't have infinite stamina so if you're in a chase you're pretty much done. It is also pretty hard to juke an enemy from around a table. This can be frustrating, but I suppose it's fair if you're up for a challenge. 8/10 from what I've seen so far
