The clumsy controls and camera discouraged me to play the game. Too awkward even as an adult, let alone for the young ones. A pity because it looked like it could be fun to play.

I genuinely wanted to like this game; it has a lot going for it. It's very cute, the character level progression is fun, and makes it worthwhile to have several different members of the same job (because there are interactions both with the level tree *and* the base talent/traits that the cats come with; very cute). The building system is nice, clean and simple. There's not a ridiculous abundance of different materials that unnecessarily complicate things. It has all the makings a good semi-idle (seriously, you can just let the cats do their thing as long as they have food, and they'll wander around accruing resources according to their trade) colony sim. But it is majorly let down by the combat. Not the system itself - again, relatively simple, works well for a casual/relaxing sim game. You click, your cats maul, no mess, no fuss. BUT, cats will run from combat when hurt - fine, okay. But they will perform the RPG cardinal sin of running right *into* clumps of mobs that haven't been aggro'd yet. A battle where one person was getting hurt turns into all-my-soldiers-are-dead-or-captured in a matter of seconds. And, to be clear, ONLY soldiers can fight. All the other cats will stand there getting stabbed to death, while their hero waves helplessly from a cage made of sticks that the farmer simply won't touch. A careful system of saving in combat to avoid misfortune was getting me by, and I managed to mostly swallow my frustration; until a 'diplomat' came to town to broker peace. Was it a ruse? Would it have worked? I have no idea. I spent three in-game days (reloading my saves as needed) trying to make the five necessary items. And I had to keep pathing my soldiers out of town until they were fainting with exhaustion. Only to have a night-raid happen anyway, having to draw them back in, and then watching them end combat with the raiders and saunter over to viciously murder the diplomat. After an hour of this, I have given up. I just can't do it anymore. "Cats don't obey orders" is a fun premise if it's a light touch. I found it cute when the cats wandered away from harvesting wood to bat around a mouse toy or snoff up some catnip. But when it gets my entire village murdered in less than two minutes (and mind you, I was playing on 'normal' difficulty, and there's harder versions), it just stopped being fun. A little bit more bug-fixing in the cat AI, some programming so the cats *don't attack* someone not attacking them, who you're trying to do a quest for, and I'll come right back to give it another go. But right now, it's just frustrating to the point where I was mentally calling one of the cats some seriously bad names in my head due to her repeated transgressions against all common sense. If that's the kind of game it's *meant* to be (could it be called a 'souls-like' approach to a casual farming sim?) then it's done well, but it's just very much not for me; nor, I would fear, for many people attracted by the theme and art style.

A simple little colony builder about kitty meows. Each cat plays a different role in your feline society and can train other cats to follow suite. There's a campaign mode and litter box mode to play around with. The art style is cute and I spent more time trying to collect cats than build a master piece. It's a bit short but super fun!
