It's a lovely story, it even made me cry, but there's just so many important questions it leaves unanswered:
What was Pseudo's life before becoming a ghost? What was the horrible thing she saw? Is the newcomer Alice, who replaces you at your job, related to this Alice? What revolution is Baraquiel talking about? What is going to happen to Pseudo and the protagonist? Which ending is the true ending? How was Holly after the protagonist left their job? Will Pseudo ever get back her body?
The story gets the player emotionally involved but then doesn't conclude their burning answers. If this was a part one, then I would be saying it ended on a high note, but since this does seems to be the full story, it ends very anticlimacticly which is very disappointing for someone looking for a truly happy ending.

The art's about the only positive thing about this game. The protagonist is a depressing downer all the time, there's no clear reasoning to how any of the choices will affect the ending (if they do at all before getting there), the writing is CLEARLY intending the protagonist to be male (you get called 'guy' and 'man' and such throughout the game, regardless of gender choice), there's no gallery or ending list anywhere, and the game sort of just...ends with no clear resolution. 3/10, don't waste your time or money.

The purgatory part was the most interesting design moment in the whole game. It's where for a brief moment the narrative felt as if it had become fully nonlinear and there was potential for freedom. Interestingly enough that's probably the moment when ultimately as a player I had the least freedom.
Overall this game feels like a prologue to a much larger game.
As a fan of Trainwreck Studios since the Animal Lover days I hope that I can see another game from them soon.

Technically, I suppose, it has no replay value - given that none of the choices matter up to one that suddenly does (and only provides a subtext hint that it does) and another that seems to matter on one of the previous choice's branches. Yet I keep reading about multiple endings, so either i missed something or.. well, two is a multiple.
But I'll replay it again, anyway. It's just too charming not to.

I don't usually end up reviewing games, but I had to leave a positive note for this one. I simply couldn't not finish it. I kept going " a little bit more" every 15 minutes or so until finishing a playthrough a full 2 hours past when I normally go to bed. (Work the next day was not fun, but worth it.)

Welp, if you love deep-thinking novels, you are gonna enjoy this.
Recommend or Not Recommend, if I have to choose, I`m going with recommend.
The story has this bitterness of a broken love. Its like you wanted all of it to go well but seems like world doesn`t want it that way. I had a lot of sighs here and there.
The heroine is a bit annoying(Hey, that`s my opinion don`t hit me) but very lovely.
The story has its own style(I think you`d better see it yourself).
This ain`t somekind of japanese doki-doki, light-headed love novel.
No H-scenes.
No laugh-bursting jokes.
But here you can find yourself loving a ghost lady.
That is what matters, really.

You know, this is a nice little VN. If you've got 3 hours to kill and like stories about moving on with your life and stumbling into love, it's worth the read. My one major gripe would be that I would have liked to learn more about the ghost girl's past, cause some stuff was kind of vague.

Trainwreck Studios continues to be one of the best western VN devs. The writing is amazing, unless you hate laughing, crying, or feeling any emotions. The art is great, but is secondary to the writing, which is how it should be, in my opinion. I've played far too many VNs lately where it feels like I'm searching for pretty art instead of enjoying the story. The Characters are refreshingly relatable and expressive.
Nowhere Girl was a pleasure to read and I can't recommend it, or their other VN, Animal Lover , more.

If you find yourself saying "yes" to question "would you want to have ghost chained to your leg, just to have anyone to talk to", read no further! Just go and get this novel, because you should be already adamant that it's for you and you require no more convincing.
If at some point in your life you were in love with The Canterville Ghost, I'm pretty sure that you already pressed "buy" before getting to this sentence.
For the rest of you, hoomans, I don't know what to say.
I've been chained to this ghost girl, she made me skip work and convinced me to eat some pineapple shrimp thing and if it's not Stockholm syndrome that makes me say "I'll do all of it again", then I'm not sure what it is, but it was great. Maybe, except bathroom scene
I'm not entirely convinced that ghosts with no legs should have butts and there's nothing you can say to make me believe otherwise
[strike]and amount of spirits you have to consume to see a spirit[/strike].
Note: if you pick female gender for MC, in dialogues you'd still often get called "man" (more as figure of speech than directly at you, but it happens A LOT), but I'm pretty sure if you're actually female that used Internet and doesn't plaster everywhere "I'm actually a girl" you'll be fine with everyone calling you "man", since everyone usually defaults to that.
Would get stuck in Purgatory again. Great place for me anyway.

I liked the game. I'm glad I bought it. However, I have to qualify my recommendation a bit.
The thing is, I'm nuts. When I was younger, and less bitter/broken/bleak/cynical/realistic/ pessimistic/nihilistic, I held the irrationally romantic notion of how wonderful it would be to love a ghost. To be free from the petty foibles that plague human-to-human relationships; to have love sublimated to its highest, purest form.
So, when I saw this on Steam, I was essentially forced to buy it for the premise alone. And I thank the creators for going with a somewhat odd, possibly hard-to-sell premise such as this. It reminded me of my more innocent and hopeful youth, of which few things are now capable.
That said, I would wager that most people aren't equally besotted with the concept; and in that case, take my recommendation as you will.
As an impartial critic, I will say that some might object to the Christian bias of the game's treatment of the afterlife. I have no strong inclinations for or against any particular religion (aside from pagan blood-feuds, hoorah!), so it didn't bother me remotely.
Also, as a critic, I'll say I wish the game had a few more choices, so as to make the ones that are there feel more crucial; it doesn't seem like you can vary widely between playthroughs. But to be fair, I've only played through it once so far.
Also with critical neutrality (I say this to emphasize that I've taken off my "I love ghost sex!" hat), I believe the writer handled the characters well. It would take a particular kind of personality to be open to loving a ghost.
