Ugly graphics, wonky controls and just not a lot of fun

Make it go away Hex Hex! I'm not certain but I believe the Devs never played their own game. You have several missions that require you to speed through checkpoints with your Horse, sometimes you have a limited amount of time to finish the race. Doesn't sound too bad, right? well, most of the time you don't see the checkpoints because they are out of your vision, the marker is pretty bad and might even confuses you instead. The Horse gets stuck on the slightest bump, tight corners are torture to navigate. Also why can't a Horse walk through puddles of water? it can jump fences but some water? nope.. Some races with a time limited seemed ultra tight, I finished like 2 of those with less than a second left even though I pretty much raced optimal, not very kid friendly. The controls are ultra sensitive at times for no reason, the camera is pointed at the Horses butt and you can't even move it. There is no feel to the Horse running faster. The graphics are not that bad for such a game, draw distance is a joke though. Minigames like feeding and cleaning are pretty much useless and no fun at all. At times I wanted to put my Horses to sleep in a slaughterhouse. Anyway, took me nearly 4 hours to 100% it.

A fun horse riding game. You can compete in various races and perform care tasks (such as feeding and grooming) to get endurance bonuses for the riding challenges. It's open world with a "Riding Out" mode where you can just ride around and explore without any set tasks or anything. You unlock more horses and locations the more missions you do. It's a well-made game; it saves your progress automatically, the controls are great, and it's not buggy. In comparison to other horse riding/care games, the horses are finicky over rough terrain, and the care tasks are given limitations (such as soft spots on the horse you can't touch in the brushing minigame) to make it fell more like a game than a chore. All in all, it's non-demanding, fun to play, and really well-made.

This game is made for young children. You do not get any of the in-depth aspects of equestrian events like timing strides or disease/injury. The shows are just time trials with some jumping. I'm not a big fan of the controls - I like that I can use wasd but I can't easily use a mouse for most things which is a bit of a nuisance. The horses also suck at doing horse things. They can't go over uneven ground so they will randomly stop and rear even if there is a tiny bump in the trail. They can't go into or jump over water. You don't press anything to jump, you just have to run towards something and it jumps for you (or stops and rears because it decided to slow down right before jumping). The horse speed s=is very slow and you constantly have to tell it to speed up. Not the worst horse game I've played, but not very good either. 4.5/10

Essentially a generic horse game, Bibi & Tina - Adventures with Horses does little to stand out from the crowd apart from its visual styling and relative lack of bugs. Having to spam the space bar to get and keep your mount moving is an interesting idea when combined with rather limited stamina management. You can play as two characters from the TV series with the open world option providing a choice of horses outside the mission-based mode where you're locked to one mount only. My borderline recommend of this comes into play because the developers obviously padded this out with a goofy achievement so you blow past the refund cap. Realistically this has maybe two hours of content, but having to replay the final race ten times racks up those minutes quite fast. If you're buying this for a younger child I'd suggest skipping it as the final mission's quite irritating (a race set in a randomly generated corn maze complete with terrible map) and also will not let you close the game until you've won it...a great way to make an angered kid even more mad. Achievement hunters will be happy to note all included work, it's just a few of them are a pain to get. Expect around four hours for full completion.

How to get a speedrunning world record: 1. Find a game nobody plays. 2. Speedrun it. 3. Get a world record. 10/10 Would ride my horse again for WR.
