Dream Ending Reviews
This is a small tale from the end. The leftovers of mankind are destined to perish as the Arks break orbit. Suddenly, however, she's making me ask her out, an invitation to face the apocalypse together... a short but exquisite visual novel, "Dream Ending" is humanity's last love story.

The stars shimmer,
painting the sky in deep blue.
Beneath the moonlit night,
the flowers still sway.
A distant promise,
I still remember...
Back when we knew nothing of goodbyes.
"I have to go now,"
you said, smiling through tears.
Our hands slipped apart,
melting into a dream.
I sing, hoping my voice reaches you,
believing we’ll meet again.
I pray, wishing this moment lasts forever,
so I can live on in your heart.
i still want to eat that bitter gourd soup

Fairly nice second entry of the trilogy! The premise reminds me of the VN "Companion", yet the general vibes still rather resemble "Tiny Snow", except I actually perceived this one to be a lot less dark despite the tragic setting lol.
I really like the concept and while the world-building and lore aren't as much in focus as I would've desired, the writing still manages to give a great impression of the events. Like in Tiny Snow, I really enjoyed the various thought provoking elements even during casual scenes.
The Extra chapter, again, didn't disappoint, I love how those extras always provide a new perspective on the events of the main stories. Additionally I particularly like the atmosphere, which perfectly captures the hopelessness, melancholy and acceptance with the music and vivid art. While most of the plot is sadly quite dull for an apocalyptic setting, the story still managed to impress me with its unique approach!

Rating this is... difficult I find.
The way I see this the story is SO close to being satisfying. I have one major problem with it though.
The entire story is focused on the Dream ending drug. The drug allowed people to keep sane but comes with extreme (deadly) side effects once one stops taking them. It also prevents the main characters from actually being in love with each other or just even having sex. It has been built up throughout the entire story and there was even a halfway scene where the mc did actually manage to genuinly feel something for her when he did not take his pills for a few seconds after having an episode. Then the game ends... with it cutting away after the chick runs out of pills and then skipping to her being dead already. The entire story build up to a ''In their last moments without the drugs they could actually feel love and died content'' ending. Only to then go ''Oh yeah btw she died, the end''. The special story is a good ending but it also sufferse from the lack of proper ending of the base story.
So yeah, I really wanted to like this novel but sadly it falls flat right at the finish line, which the entire novel build up towards.

Incredible, simply incredible. It actually surprises me how much this game is underrated. The setting, characters, story, development, everything is great. The ending is sort of bittersweet, but very remarkable, something you won't ever forget. It mixes up aspects of philosophy, making you understand views that society normally leaves behind or does not give much attention. For that, I thank this game for making me better understand the world.
Perhaps if Death is kind, and there can be returning,
We will come back to earth some fragrant night,
And take these lanes to find the sea, and bending
Breathe the same honeysuckle, low and white.
We will come down at night to these resounding beaches
And the long gentle thunder of the sea,
Here for a single hour in the wide starlight
We shall be happy, for the dead are free.
The end of a dream, and a start of a new beginning.
Thank you, Eva.
Respiraremos a mesma madressilva, baixa e branca.
Desceremos à noite para estas praias ressonantes
E o longo e suave trovão do mar,
Aqui, por uma única hora sob a ampla luz das estrelas,
Seremos felizes, pois os mortos estão livres.
O fim de um sonho e o início de um novo começo.
Obrigado, Eva.
