I dunno why this game has so many negative reviews but I'm gonna say that I enjoyed this.
Yes, the controls were a bit odd but you'll get used to it in time.
The races are a bit difficult if you don't know how to control the horse's stamina.
You don't really need to care your horses everyday. Just be sure to have medicine in store and you can skip 2-3 days if you want. I did this to get achievements faster.
Plus you don't have to clean your horse everyday or take them outside at all if you don't want to. Just keep medicine in your pockets and keep the horses in stable. It saves time and effort.
I bought this on sale and I say it was good price for this game. Do not buy it full price tho. It's not THAT good...

I should have read the reviews before buying the game, what a waste of money. Also extremely expensive for what it is - a worse version of an old game. There is no option menu, and therefore there is no way to change the controls, which means that the only way to reliably move around anywhere is backwards. As soon as you go forwards it will trigger all kinds of entrances and interaction points which means you get stuck.
I really don't have a high bar for the games I play but the mechanics are absolutely awful in this one and way too hard to compensate for.

I just bought this game yesterday, I'm a horse lover big time but this is the world's stupidest horse game, the controls suck big time especially when you go to do foal training they don't want to work half of the time and then the time runs out super quick during the training. You know I was looking forward to this game too.

This game isn't worth the money, unfortunately.
graphics, controls, etc arent NEARLY as good as the Life with horses version. the controls are awful, training foals is almost impossible, riding is extremely awkward, etc.
i requested a refund and purchased the original game instead (which ive had and played before with no complaints)
and YES you can breed in the original game. no need for this garbage to even exist. the original is literally the same exact game, please dont waste your money.

Controls are way too slow. The graphics are terrible. Everything is too clunky and slow, nothing is the same pace. Don't play this. The older version is so much better than this.

Tried to play this game and it's unplayable. Couldn't even perform the first task and bring my horse in from the pasture because the character can't move in the stable. Tried to move around the stable without the horse and had the same issue.

Controls are terrible and loose.
The character will get stuck on any circled objective and can only back away.
No obvious way to ride the horse.
Way too expensive.

Awful controls, very little to do, practically everything you do is a tedious chore that's not fun.
I played through it because I wanted to see everything this game has to offer and I can confidently say it was a terrible investment of my time. Even your horse-crazy kids deserve better.

I was really hoping that this would be good. It's way too hard to find decent horse games that run well and are not subscription based multiplayer things. Unfortunately, this just looks like a huge money grab from the company. They haven't even bothered to change much from the last game. Sure the graphics are different, not sure they are better, but they are different, but $24.99 USD? Really? For what is basically a reskin of a very old game? really dissapointed.
I've played a decent amount of this game now, and can say that yes, some of the mechanics have become better than in previous games, like the fact you can now do all the activities with just the keyboard and some other small, quality of life things that irked me in the previous game (you can now move faster and run while leading your horse). However, this is all overshadowed by the number of things that are honestly just worse than the other game. For example, attention to detail seems to have vanished, bridles are now missing from tack, and there is now no halter when leading a horse. Features are also missing that were present in previous games like the ability to free roam when you are training, or mount and ride your horse in the yard.
Also, though this is just personal preference and opinion, the graphics have taken a serious downgrade from the last game. They were semi-realistic, and are now just cartoony. Honestly if you want a horse game, buy the previous one, not this one. It's a better game overall and $10 cheaper. I would be requesting a refund if I hadn't already spent too much time in game giving it a chance.
