Excellent puzzle game. I found a progress-stopping glitch though: placing and removing a block fast enough causes the tile it was on to to longer function correctly. Saving and loading won't fix this glitch either. The only option is to reload the game from a save before the glitch occurred. Good thing the game autosaves at the beginning of each level.

Got stuck on room 40 for anywhere from 2-4 hours, got bored and softlocked myself into room 39 using a laser from room 40. I'm just going to assume that's how the game was meant to end, since I'm not smart enough to figure out 40's actual solution and my pride doesn't allow yet for looking up solutions externally.
The first ReThink was easy enough that I assumed later games would similarly be walks in the park, but I cannot salute the developer enough for constantly finding ways to consistently step up the difficulty in every iteration. If you like indie first-person puzzlers, get every game in this series. The mechanics are simple enough to grasp, but still offer a lot of challenge.

Every ReThink game I play I love it more and more. Such a simple premise for a game but the late levels are really hard by mixing those few concepts, what an elegant game design.
Definitely recommended for puzzle game lovers, it puts your brain to the test and if you are patient and figure out the solution, it's so satisfying. Even when it looks impossible to solve with the pieces you have keep trying, the solution is probably simpler than what you're trying (at least based on my experience). There are probably multiple ways to solve some of the puzzles, because I ended up with extra pieces after several of them.
No doubt these games deserve a spot in the puzzle games hall of fame, it only lacks a storyline to be in the same league as games such as Portal or The Talos Principle. If you don't mind the lack of story, buy it, it's a fair price.
Thank you Yaeko, keep them coming please.

ReThink 2 got me thinking twice about those trash cans found in many of the puzzle rooms. Let me explain: No matter how hard you look, you cannot find a restroom anywhere! Now, where are you supposed to do your *business*?
I hope you solve the puzzles in a timely manner before it becomes a concern...

Disclaimer: As a friend of the developer, i'm biased, so take this review with a grain of salt. And i haven't finished the game yet, because the later puzzles are quite a challenge to me (my playtime is higher then displayed because the time i playtested it didn't count), but i want to give my impression of it so far. And yes, i bought the game myself to support the developer. :P
Visuals:
I think that the ReThink game series is one of the best looking "only-one-developer-indie-games". Partly because the UE4 is well used here, and partly because most of the Assets are self-made and fit together perfectly. Every room is pleasant to look at and the visuals often compliment the puzzle design (or the other way around). And it runs decently well at 4k with 60fps at medium to high detail settings.
Sounds:
The music is beautiful and relaxing, the composer did a great job.
For the sound design though... you'll notice that free sounds were used. I understand that buying good sounds is very very expensive, but buyers should be aware of that. The sounds aren't annoying, they just could be a lot better, and many players might miss some kind of "victory sound" as a feedback when a puzzle is solved.
Gameplay:
The gameplay is the strength of this series. The puzzles are well done most of the time, the level design works well for the puzzles and you often get a "sneak preview" to future puzzles or you can look proudly at older puzzles you already solved.
As i wrote in the Disclaimer, it will get very challenging at the end though, but the game (as other games of its series) has quite a bit of content. I think it'll take most people 3-5 hours to finish this one.
The puzzles are mostly redirecting, combining and splitting lasers through sometimes big, complex and even changing levels. You have different tools you can use to redirect lasers in different ways and directions, and you can just click at the location where you want to spawn a "redirect-cube", regardless of distance (they can be only spawned at predefined places, but those can be all over the place - ground, walls, ceiling).
Conclusion
Is this game worth 10$? In my opinion, absolutely. I've bought games for more money that had less to offer. Beeing the latest game of the series (as of now), it's also the most polished one, but if you like puzzles games, i can recommend the entire series.

This series gets better and better, and new mechanics keep being added, keeping things fresh without it getting overwhelming. Some really neat switching and 3D elements in this one compared to previous games.
This one had a couple of really hard puzzles, two of which took me several hours. But they are all solvable without a guide.
A good tip is to work out where there are places that a certain colour MUST go, and start to work backwards from there. It often eliminates a lot of possibilities and lets you focus on a much smaller problem space.
Now on to the next one!

As all previous games, this one is another excellent addition. Like in the very first ReThink, the cube positions are fixed - which does not make the puzzles any easier. Another great addition to the series.

Difficulty : 3.5/5 (Hard)
Global : 3/5 (Very Good)
The first half is easy like ReThink 1. But you quickly realize in the second half that the difficulty drastically went up at some point and you'll be stuck on some puzzles for a long time.

ReThink 2 is a first person puzzle game where the basic concept of each puzzle requires the player to use a variety of cubes to redirect coloured lasers so that they touch switches with the same colour, which unlocks the door to the next puzzle chamber.
For example “I” cubes will shine the laser in one direction, while “V” cubes shine in two directions simultaneously. Lasers have three basic colours (red, green, blue), and by shining different colours into the same cube together you can create four more colours (yellow, purple, turquoise and white). If you shine one of the later four colours into a colour splitting cube, you get red, green and blue back out. More advanced puzzles also include cubes which can shine lasers in two or three different directions, but only one at a time, and you can change the active direction with a mouse click.
ReThink 2 also added a couple of new mechanics that weren’t in the previous games, such as the ability to place cubes on the walls and ceilings, and walls that have puzzle elements on both sides and can be rotated 180 degrees when a switch is activated.
I enjoy most of these first person puzzle games (including the likes of Portal, Talos Principle, Qube and others) because being able to walk around inside a 3D environment and look at a puzzle from different angles often helps to find the solution.
ReThink 2 took me 10 hours to finish, but that’s a bit misleading because I got severely stuck on two puzzles near the end. Puzzle 40 took me an hour and 44, which thankfully was the final puzzle, took me about 3 hours. Those two puzzles were very confusing and frustrating, but I don’t want that to change my recommendation because most of the others were enjoyable to solve.
If you enjoy puzzle games you should definitely take a look at the ReThink franchise. There have been seven of these games released and this is the fourth I’ve played so far.
