A Quick Look gameplay compilation of my experiences can be found at the link below! I had a great time and my poor cat/dog 'Woofers' never made it out! https://youtu.be/U_CjMCsJ8oM I didn't have any of the technical issues mentioned in several of the comments. However, I also agree with the comment that I'm not sure if there is enough story/variety to retain attention. The gameplay is straightforward (the video previews on the store page pretty much capture it). The fear and hunger mechanics definitely help make this a 'hardcore' game, but did little to add to the experience in a positive way. All-in-all, I had a good time with it, but I can understand those who didn't.

A fun little roguelike dungeon crawler that would remind you of an old NES style game. Unfortunately, after I beat the first floor I encountered a fatal error and the game shut itself down. For a couple dollars, the game would be worth investing a few hours in. But only after some hotfixes! Also, the cat race is pretty adorable. Meow!

A very cute RPG-roguelike game with nice pixel graphics. It doesn't cost much, but it allows you to plunge into a world created by a very small team, which gives me a special, unlike anything else pleasure.

Very unpolished and confusing at the moment. No decent controller support and the game crashed while playing. Also english text in the game is very poor. This could become a great game if polished properly, it just need his dev to focus on it. Also, if I may, I would like to talk about graphics: I'm a pixel artist, and from my point of view, this game really should need some visual upgrade and changes to how things look and feel. It's a waste, but I know that the dev still works on it. I Don't expect miracles but I decided not to refund it, instead I'm waiting for it to be better

I guess two keywords would perfectly describe this game: "hardcore" and "roguelike". If you don't like any of those, then it's likely not the game you may enjoy. But if you do and the Darkest Dungeon title rings a bell then this game is certainly worth a shot. While the game lacks a tutorial badly, still the learning curve is not too steep and experimenting with game mechanics feels rewarding. The combat requires more tactical thinking and becomes less forgiving as the party progresses deeper in the dungeon. The level of combats diversity remains decent even after multiple playthroughs. Still the game challenges not only skill but also patience due to occasional crashes and annoying visual effects. But overall, I'm enjoying this game very much.

Fun and enjoyable. Until you're enjoying the game it it crashes on you before you can even finish the floor to get the save. So far like 4 crashes in the past hour.

I started off with an OK team. I walked into a random encounter tile. The tile asked if I wanted to drink from a fountain. I did. The fountain mega-poisoned my entire party, because you would totally have your entire party drink from an unknown fountain at the same time. They all died from poison. That's okay, it's a roguelike. I restarted... ...only to find out the poison didn't wear off when they died. So all my games from that point on would lose before the 20th tile I stepped on. I tried to drink the health potion you spawn with to fix it. It removed the poison from my defender. Everyone else died. I suicided into a battle. I restarted the game. Everyone except the defender has poison. I did not spawn with a potion. This is why I stopped playing.

Played this for around 45 minutes before I was 100% sure that I wasn't having a good time and refunded. 1) There's no feeling of exploration, or dungeon crawling. You just walk around a small grid and random events or battles happen sometimes when you move. The map is also completely covered in darkness so you can't see anything. You end up spending most of your time walking into walls that you can't see, which drains your hunger meter. 2) The random events are boring and not very varied. They're not interesting or world-building or funny. They're mostly just "There's a chest, want to open it?" and then you obviously say Yes and either get loot or fight a battle. 3) Combat isn't great. Each character can attack, defend, and has 1 unique spell. Your whole team shares the same mana pool which regenerates pretty slowly so you spend most of the time just attacking normally and throwing a spell in every now and then. You pick up scrolls with random spells on to use, but these still cost mana so you can't use them most of the time. This is exacerbated by the fact that enemies have a lot of health and take a long time to kill. They're also often resistant to physical damage so you have to wait a long time to keep using your one spell that damages them. 4) The game is a bit unstable. Other people have experienced frequent crashing. I saved my game once and every time I try to "Continue" the game just aborts. The art is pretty cute though.

Don't mind people telling you the game's worth some arbitrary price or not. It's either you're in for the genre and going to tone down expectations for a game made by 2 people in their spare time, or entirely not so. In my personal opinion, Nexoria has more potential that it currently presents, but developer is updating the game and there are chances to see something new every now and then. There are projects which are dead from the start, or are heading nowhere. This one is not, so be sure to support it, if you care about indie devs actually iterating on making their games. Gameplay-wise, it's a variation of Darkest Dungeon, but with anime/chibi graphical style and FM-synth music. Aesthetics-wise, it looks and sounds like something you could've encountered on a Sharp X68000 japanese PC, around the 1987 year, or maybe NEC PC-98XX. Good effort there.

This roguelike has some interesting features and it's not bad for the price, but I lost my progress too many times to leave a positive review. So far the game had 5 crashes, 3 menu locks, and other unexplained glitches that forced me out of the game. To be fair, the developer fixed some of them, so it's not as bad anymore. By the way, you can only save your progress after each boss fight, which is fine, but I am constantly restarting because of those technical issues. Also, I am not a huge fan of colorful effects in this game, some enemies just blind the crap out of you - dev told me to use numbers (because you might as well play blindfolded). Anyway. With my little rant out of the way, I do like some of the mechanics. You can create your own team from the small selections of heros with different perks and abilities, not a huge variety, but still nice to have. The actual combat system is not simply turn-based, each character is on a timeline which adds more depth to the system. It also features a hunger and sanity attributes which must be maintained above 0 to avoid negative effects. You can find a few unique features on the map like stores, libraries, and chests. As far as the loot goes, it's mostly limited to consumable food and spell scrolls.
Pros:
+ can build your own team from hero selection + decent positional gameplay + several randomized boss fights + achievements
Cons:
Technical Notes - highly unstable, has many crashes and locks. Some of the visual effects need to be reduced. Also, the game is a little bit too bright. Map & Exploration - you are pretty much at the mercy of RNG as you can't see the tiles around you. RNG is fine in moderation, but I would prefer to have a little bit of decision making, planning where I want to move and all. Overall Thoughts: 5/10 Not a terrible game considering the price, you could enjoy it for a few hours, but it might crash at random. I lost my progress about 10 times, so for now it's right click and uninstall.
If the game shows significant improvements, I will consider removing this review.
