What a fun game!! I have played multiple VR games and this is the only one I've played with free movement in the play area. I love FPS games and this one is very immersive and engaging. It's fun to watch the sharks blow up into peices when you defeat them, and the little play area cutscenes are super funny. I laughed lots. THE LOST IT AT THE PORTER POTTY GUY FLYING AROUND! Also: a bunch of sharks piled up in one spot and I blew them all up with the the RPG. HOW SATISFYING. I like the graphics too because it's all detailed and there's like pits and stuff and I feel like I was gonna fall in it but I didn't and I was glad. I RECCOMEND IT!

This game is pretty fun. I know that there's a number of VR wave shooters out there but this one adds some nice little extras that make it worth checking out. As someone who enjoyed the Sharknado movies, I like how this game works to keep that campy unintentionally (but really intentionally) humour that is present in the "films". I also liked the joystick movement that allowed me to play the game without getting out of my chair. There were a couple things that I would change though, the weapons feel a little underpowered, especally early in the game and the chainsaw (which looks and sounds great) should in my opinion chop the sharks up in one hit. I also noticed a couple lag spikes when I had to deal with several sharks at the same time but that could be beacause I'm running the bare minimum in terms of hardware. As I stated above, it's pretty fun, I would recommend it.
“Listen boy, someday when you are older You could get hit by a boulder~ 🎶” ~Yoda (Bad Lip Reading)
So, b-movies, huh? Don't know 'bout you, guys, but personally? I always had a special place in my heart for those. I mean, when it's about b-movies? There are no rules. When it's about the big league, people are often like “no-no-no, those effects don't look realistic!” and “no-no-no, the story is too silly!”. When it's about b-movies, though? It's exactly the opposite. That time-traveling cyborg dude with Mega-Man's Mega Buster and tank tread in his butt looks cheap? Of course, he does! It's a b-movie! Alien carnies who kill people sound like a silly idea? Of course, it's stilly! It's a b-movie! Heck, we can have evil tomatoes as the main villains and there won't be any need to explain anything. Just because it's a b-movie. Sure, quite a lot of such stuff is shockingly bad, but honestly, it's just part of the fun. When it's about b-movies, you just never know what to expect. And it's a great thing. Especially in the age of copy / pasted plots, remakes and other boring bull, when trailers show us pretty much the entire thing. So, like many others, I loved Sharknado. I mean... a powerful tornado throwing living sharks at people? And Ian Ziering from Beverly Hills, 90210 (huge fan, by the way) fighting them in the name of all that is good? What not to love, right? It got kinda repetitive in sequels, but still, with enough pizza, those movies were fun. Heck, Ian even did Ash's chainsaw thing from Evil Dead at some point, Tori Spelling from 90210 made an appearance too (did I mention that I'm a big fan of the original 90210?) and so on. You're a b-movie geek like yours truly? Most likely, you've seen (and enjoyed) at least one of Sharknado flicks. Naturally, when I learned about the fact that there's going to be VR game based on it (it was actually promoted by the original cast during The Last Sharknado: It's About Time campaign), I thought it's actually a pretty cool idea to have something like that. I mean, come on. VR? Motion controls? Flying sharks? Cheesiness? Gimme, gimme! Unfortunately... let's... just say that Sharknado VR didn't turn out nearly as good as I hoped. And I didn't even expect much. Heck, I barely expected anything. I just wanted yet another one of those basic shooting galleries for VR, this time with flying sharks and maybe some references to the original movies (again, this game was released when the entire series was officially over) as some personal touch. You can't go simpler than that, right? Well, it looks like the guys from Autumn VR can't even do that. I mean, technically, Sharknado VR is exactly that. Yet another one of those poor shooting galleries for VR. But the thing is... it's just terribly made. Again, it's not like I've expected much. I've played tons and tons of cheap shooting games. For light guns, for Nintendo Wii, for VR... I've seen it all. Steam is full of cheap shooting galleries too. I'm pretty sure you have at least one of those if you have a VR headset on you and keep looking for new VR titles. Those are everywhere. But this? This is not just “beyond average” stuff. This... is... bad. And not in Michael Jackson way. You know, when the whole world has to answer right now just to tell you once again who's bad. But in a bad bad way. Long story short, as the full name of this game suggests, you stay in the eye of the storm. Which is pretty much just our usual VR arena. And the game? The game just keeps throwing random objects at you. You know, crates, barrels, octopuses (don't ask). And yes, some of those objects will be sharks. Which you should kill in order to progress. Kill enough sharks, while avoiding or destroying everything else, and you'll progress to the next wave. And after clearing enough waves, you'll move to another level (there are only four of those in this game). Still doesn't sound that bad, right? Generic as heck, sure, but still, not that bad. The problem is – everything here feels cheap as F. For example, physics suck. Thanks to which the game feels ridiculously random. It's just that – the game throws random objects at you and those bounce around with no proper logic. Most of the time you won't even know what hits you. Something bounced behind you and hit you in the butt – you're hurt. Remember that Seagulls song by Bad Lip Readings? The one where Grand Master Yoda sang “And then, hmm, got hit in the neck with a hacky-sack. Mmm hm hm hmm where'd it come from? Hmmm...” That's exactly how you'll feel while playing this game. It's just so-o-o random and unpredictable that it isn't fun. Like... at all. It's not like it's hard, though. Every time you'll be out of ammo, the game will spawn some near you and same thing goes for the health. The only way to die here is to get hit by something before you'll be able to make a couple of steps into the right direction to pick up healing item, and even though it's easier than it sounds (again, the game is just way too random), the game is not hard at all (especially since there are no difficulty levels and the default difficulty is the only thing you get here). It's just you need to learn how to deal with all the randomness. Personally, I think that the easiest way to get through the main game is to use the chainsaw. Not to roleplay Ian from the fourth movie, but just because it's easier to just hold chainsaw in front of you, which will both protect you from enemies and kill them at the same time. If you'll level up it enough? It'll be really useful. Won't help you against final boss (
which is a giant flying koi fish for whatever reason
), but still, that's the best way to deal with this game's broken mechanics. Also, yes, you'll be able to level up weapons. Won't be nearly as satisfying as you'll hope, but still, it's a thing. And so is The House of the Dead-like “protect the innocent” thingy. Which is actually a serious mess, since protecting somebody in all that random disaster is pretty tricky, while failing to do that will cost you a life. That's just the thing about this game. It doesn't feel like a real deal. Instead, it feels like one of those crappy and half-broken games you can often find in Google Play store. And controls here are a nice example of that. Technically, there are three options for you to choose from. First – there's our usual old-school movement. Feels like a crap with Vive controllers since this game utilizes its touchpads, but OK, whatever. Regular movement works. Kinda. Then, there's a teleportation thingy, but unfortunately, in my case it didn't work at all (again, I've used HTC Vive). Finally, there's a fixed position option, but honestly, it just doesn't make any sense. There's also that annoying bug that caused the game to crash, freeze and break as long as I was online. Playing offline fixed it, but honestly, Autumn VR, what the f*ck? No matter how you look at it, Sharknado VR is a no-no product. It feels terrible, it's half-broken and honestly, I can barely call it a game. Seriously, you can get some way, way better VR games for free. Even if you're a big Sharknado fan, this game is still a one fat “no”. Especially since it's just that – a shovelware product with no real connection or references to the movies. Actually paying for this? Let's... just say you may as well throw your money away. It'll feel much better than actually suffering through this piece of crap.
Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
This is a 360 wave shooter, where you can move freely inside a small square area. I think the negative reviews are exaggerated, but this still isn't good enough for me to recommend, even at the $3 USD price. It's just not polished enough. There's enough issues that I can't recommend this wave shooter. However, it's not awful. There are some good ideas here. They're just not well-implemented. Quite frankly, if you're okay with jank & some technical issues, this can be a fun little game. You have different weapons & upgrades to unlock. Sharks & squids, & other dangerous objects slam down on you and you have to move out of the way or shoot them down. You can even jump out of the way. It's mindless arcade shooter action. The main problem is the hit detection. I swear I would hit targets and get no credit for it. Also, the weapons are unbalanced as heck. Once you get the unlimited ammo rifle, there's no reason to use anything else. Sharks will get stuck in the terrain. Objects will come at you sideways. There's usually a healthpack that spawns when you get low on health & there's usually ammo that spawns when you run out of ammo. The UI is terrible. The graphics are muddy & washed. Look, the game is based on a B movie that's bad. The game takes after the movie. It's really the perfect marriage. I'll admit though, I didn't totally regret the hour I spent playing this. I still can't recommend it though. Too many issues. Rate 4.5/10. I really did come close to recommending this. It's not bad, but it's not good either. There's much better wave shooters out there though that you can find on sale for close to $3 USD.

I think it goes without saying, that Sharknado VR: Eye of the Storm is a killer app. Without question, with start of a revolution for the entire video game industry. Truly, a masterclass in story telling and character development. A true work of Art, that will not doubt set records and expectations moving forward. It brings a tear to my eye, at the mere sight of the title. Those involved with the project will likely move on to create some of the greatest games of our generation, and be heavily commended for their work on such a masterful experience. 6.9/10.

Having watched a couple movies in the Sharknado series and appreciating them for the goofy, campy works that they are I thought I'd try out this game. The game kicks off with a relatively short cutscene to give you a little context on the situation and why you're about to go to battle with a lot of sharks. It felt a little out of place to me, but it did have a couple of pretty funny parts that set the humorous tone that you'll see throughout the game. The game controls feel very similar to most first person shooters which is always good. Being able to move freely in the play area is pretty neat as most VR games I've played lock you down to a single spot. Depending on how well you (and your brain) handle VR games this can be a little jarring however, so if you tend to feel motion sickness from VR in general like myself, I'd recommend sitting while you play. Graphically I thought the game looked quite good compared to other VR games I've played. Sharks look really detailed and glistening wet (and chomping as they go past you). Music and sound effects all fit well with the theme and weaponry. I found the difficulty to be a hair on the easy side of things, as ammo and health packs always seem to spawn shortly before you find yourself in peril. Each level has 2 waves of sharks to cut thru to proceed. I initially found the second waves a little too long (too many shark kills needed to proceed) until I started making good use of the slow motion feature... and then I really started having a lot of fun with this game. Particularly combined with the chainsaw. At this point it became very satisfying taking out sharks in a single slice and handily moving from wave to wave. With that being said there's a good variety of weapons to use, and you'll get a chance to power them up even more along the way. In game there's also a lot of funny easter eggs and nods to other movies and pop culture. I legitimately LOL'ed a few times. I also liked how some of the flying shrapnel would have different effects on you when you get hit by them (squid anyone)? And finally the boss battle was pretty epic. My only real beef with the game was on the Lincoln memorial level when the sharks come in directly overtop of the memorial I found that they often would fly right over my head and I wouldn't even have a chance to hit them with my chainsaw. Sharks would eventually come in at the right angle, it just took a lot longer than other levels. With that being said if you use another weapon it's not as much of an issue. Overall I liked the game quite a bit. It was fun to play, funny to watch, and keeps in the spirit of Sharknado. If you like Sharknado then I think you'll like this game too.
