the only problem is its dead, no one is really playing the game anymore. Despite it has everything from RC2, the pricing is insanely high.

Walk down memory lane, but the game is dead. Only 1 server with 3 or 4 people. Right now 0 players online.
They should change the game to free instead that way people might actually play, and maybe add bots to the game. At least you will be able to play a game then.
Until then, game is pointless. Not worth the money

Nostalgic game, played it when was free on Facebook back in 2010-2013 and probably my first shooter after CS games. I wish this game to come back again, be alive as it is. A lot of good and crayze memories with this game. Met a lot of people on global level. Great emotions about this game!

I played RC2 since 2012 until it died in 2015. It's good to see finally RGS brought it back but there are many problems.
1. They just copy&pasted the game without making any improvement. Hell, they did not even fix the damn bugs. Everytime I open the game, it enters the basic training and loads endlessly, which is annoying as shit. I had this problem back in the 2015 too. Only way to escape from this is browse the matches and choose join the servers. It wont even let me choose my weapons from inventory.
2. Why tf all basic assault rifles and SMGs have 20 rounds again? I remember they did that update in 2015 for "balancing purpose" because they thought only premium weapons must have 30 rounds. This is stupid. RC2 was huge pay-to-win trash then, but it makes no sense all guns have 20 rounds now. I miss the good old days when all assault rifles and SMGs had 32 rounds.
3. Why I must unlock every tier 1 weapons with my honor points? There is already M-16 in my inventory, why I must buy it again to unlock AK-74?
4. There are very few people playing this game, its like 20-30 players per day. Also I barely find someone speaking english, the servers are filled with brazilians and russians.
Overally this game is pure nostalgia-bait. I dont think it is worth 20$, but rather 5-6 dollars because of its very bad quality and low playerbase. Fellow old RC2 veterans, you MUST NOT buy this trash. It is not worth 20$, if you already bought it you should request refund. What to do else with your 20$? Well Hired Ops just became free-to-play, the successor of Contract wars. Insurgency is 15$ on steam, and Battlefield 3 is 20$ on Origin. Last time I checked there were 1300 players playing BF3, not high number but still better than RC2's pathetic daily 30 players. There are tons of cheap but good FPS on steam so make your choice wisely.

I have bought this game just for the memory, there are still bugs need to fix, just like the old rc2. However, you can now access to premium weapons with HP merely, coins are no longer necessary. I would give this game a thumb up. Not because of the game itself, it's because of nostalgia. RGS needs to think seriously and be smart about their future. They should listen to the players' opinions and advices more rather than jerk off at their homes. PLZ RGS just listen PLZ!

RGS makes no effort to enhance the gaming experience of a loyal community. A lot of us played RC2, 5 years ago, and purchased RCF for a ridiculous $20 pre-release price, only to find no updates. The "Suicide when standing against a wall bug" has been present for months now. Devs dont do anything to fix this. RGS made a discord for feedback and ignores the community. The game is currently dying according to steam charts: https://steamcharts.com/app/916930#All (SEPT: 262.3 AVG players - DEC: 79.5 AVG players) What is RGS focusing their time on you ask?? RCF updates, their in game purchase "pay to win" game. Dont waste your time or money on this game, they only created it to take money from old, loyal players and dipped.

Just like the original rc2, it's amazing and brought back a lot of nostalgia! The only things we need is servers based on regions because I'm getting high pings(370+Ms) while playing from Asia. Please make more servers and not only just in the US.
Thoughts on Pricing
I spent a whole lot of time playing the Kongregate version of RC2 back in the day. I loved that game, so you can imagine my happy surprise when I saw this pop up on my feautured page. My excitement turned to suspicion after I saw the $20 price tag that was attached to the game. However, as a faithful fan to the game I felt I had to give it a try, so I paid for the thing, installed it, and played it.
My suspicions were confirmed.
It's Red Crucible 2 just as we remember it. Same gameplay. Same sound effects. Same bugs. Same poor netcode. Same slow-as-molasses progression (more on that in a bit). Nothing new! I guess that could be a selling point for some of us, after all who doesn't love a good nostalgic foray, but games have advanced since 2012! Red Crucible: Reborn just doesn't stand up to the other casual fps games of today. Especially when you consider the relatively hefty price for what this game is: a FREE, basic, unity-built, browser-based fps.
I don't think I can emphasize that enough.
This was a free browser-based game back in the day. Now it costs $20 USD or your regional equivalent. It just isn't worth it. Red Squad Reborn is the same concept, an unadultarated rerelease of RC2, except it is totally free. Perhaps it would be worth it if Rocketeer lowered the price or if you bought it while steeply discounted, but otherwise the value for the money just isn't here.
Now, the proponents of this game and its price might say something to this affect: "Rocketeer removed the microtransactions! How can you expect them to make any money if they sell the game for free!"
I'm not advocating for this game to be made into a F2P title. I agree, the developers need a paycheck, and the game being paid has the added benefit of keeping hackers away. What I'm saying is that the devs need to strike a better balance between profit and enticing new players to buy the game. The current pricepoint does not strike that balance.
At $20 this feels like nothing more than a lazy cash grab and I can't imagine that this game will have any kind of populated playerbase a few months from now.
The Progression
When this game was a F2P title the progression was slow, but this was balanced by the player's ability to buy "Honor" (the main currency) and other premium currencies which could then be spent on better weapons, armor, and XP boosts. The problem with Red Crucible: Reborn is that the progression system is the same as it was in the old RC2, but now there are no microtranscations. This creates a progression system that feels very grindy and slow. It's a progression system that feels at home in a F2P title, but not in a game that costs $20.
The developers could fix this by giving more XP for every kill the player gets, and for awarding more XP on match victory and match loss (currently when you lose the match you get nothing).
Verdict
Red Crucible: Reborn is simply not worth your time or your money in its current state and at its current price. If the price is lowered and the progression system altered for the better I will absolutely revisit this game and this review.
To Rocketeer: I loved RC2 back in the day. I hope you can make the changes necessary for this game to be a longterm success.
