This is a very fun game and for only 3 dollars. Good for if you are stuck at home and need to pass the time.

When Terra Incognito popped-up in my Steam queue, I didn't know how the game would play at all. It's not obvious by the video intro what style of game this is. But the theme looked interesting enough (plus the price low enough) to take a chance, and I'm glad I did.
The player controls two explorers that will leap frog back and forth between home base and camps that they will setup to create a supply chain on their way to reach the South Pole first against an AI opponent (can be turned off in the settings). The characters are controlled in third-person, with plenty of choices to be made for what each explorer carries, how they are moving. There is a three day weather forecast that effects the current conditions for the explorers and can how you manage resources, camps, travel times during good or inclement weather makes all the difference in the player's success or failure.
As the player makes attempts to reach the Pole, they will gain experience points that can be spent to upgrade different aspects of your exploration team, making them more efficient and skilled during their trek.
Beware the bear which is on the hunt for fresh meat (YOU!) - with options to either fend it off with the explorer's weapons, or can be deactivated in the options for those with wild animal sympathies.
The graphics are richly done - the interface looks era authentic, with the sound, voice overs being very nicely done.
A fun, "One More Attempt" kind of game that should not fly under your radar. (Did I mention it's less that four bucks?)

Edit3: The bugs found at release were not fixed. The developer vanished.
This is a simple game with an interesting concept.
If you played RTS games, you know how you conquer the map step by step: you send a group of units to clear the area and make an outpost then you use that outpost to support conquering the next place and make the next outpost.
This game reduces this mechanic to two people which you control in 3rd person mode.
They have to build outposts to support the next phase of the journey, to reach the south pole through randomly generated maps which you discover gradually. The enemy is the cold, weather and an occasional polar bear which you can deactivate from the settings.
((At south pole there are no bears so that is just a trick to add some challenge in the game.))
The developer focused on creating a good immersion.
Edit: As the developer mentioned, by deactivating the competitor (the Norwegian expedition) the game can be played in an even more relaxed way, without time limit.
Edit2: I found and reported a bug too. Probably will be fixed fast. Meantime I recommend players to close completely the game when they die and start a new one

As a proud Norwegian this is a game thats right down my alley... but.... Its hard to try to get Scott to walk to the south pole, dont get me wrong, its a good game, but why do i have to follow in his folly? I will say this is a planning game, entertaining and a little addictive, I do want scott to reach the Pole... AND back alive!
