So far has worked great, way more balanced of a game than earlier editions. The deck editor is my favorite feature, so if you find that one "I hate this" card you can pop it out. Nobody is ever totally out of the game until it's over, unlike older editions where one bad thing happens and you can either quit a multiplayer match or slog through two hours of hopeless, joyless play to see who wins. I see most who don't like this seem to dislike the balance. The game can be set to use many of the old rules if you find them better, so it's silly to complain about this. It's not like Classic edition is magically disappearing either. As for me and my friends, we're enjoying this version more and looking forward to see what expansions bring.

I am enjoying this game. It takes some time to learn the ins and outs, but it's well done. I picked up the expansion Alliances: Fate Beckons and it's terrible. I have died to the doom clock 4 times in a row on my first 4 games. Everything from this expansion is locked behind completing the first challenge which will just count you down to death. The absolute worst part of the doom clock is that is disables all healing in the game so as it takes a life from you at the end of every turn from every character their is absolutely no way to gain life to give you more time. I don't know who play tested this, but I do no recommend getting this expansion until they have fixed this terrible game design. I am thinking of getting a refund as this is not fun. (UPDATE: Modify the Alliances: Fate Beckons game deck to add in more non villain cards to beat this trial)

Looking back on my previous review, I wanted to like this game. Looking on it now, the rng is terrible, the dice rolling feels rigged, or very VERY jilted, and not to mention the alliances dlc just feels unfair. Is it worth money? No. No it should not. The physical one makes sense, cause it's a physical game that is tangible and needs other people to play it with. But with AI, forget it. And I doubt people are gonna wanna play this online. All in all I want to refund this game, but I know I can't, so I removed it instead. Good riddance though if you ask me.

Has that soft Ai art look that has zero charm. Nothing stands out, the map looks like somebody smeared it. Yuck.

A fantastic game ruined by a misfiring UI. The game itself is fantastic, especially the latest DLC, but the UI turns it into an exercise of pure frustration. There are so many rules that are not explained, and you are forced to intuit why are not allowed to take the action you want. Spellcasting is a nightmare, with confusing timing and no ability to cancel a spell that you accidently cast due to misreading the instructions. Speaking of instructions, they seem to be purposely written in the most confusing way possible. It is almost like a lawyer wrote them. Please use Grammarly, or even ChatGPT to make your language more comprehendible. Then there are the action buttons, that are inconsistently stacked on the right-hand side. What was once the roll button, is now the cancel button, or the re-roll button. Combined with the delayed caused by the fading in and out frequently results in incorrect selections. I teach secondary students the basics of game design, and one of the simplest principles is to avoid unfair punishment, but this game is full of it. I’m not talking about when the roll of the dice doesn’t go your way. I mean when you endlessly keep saying “I didn’t mean to do that”. Please, please, please fix this. I love playing this game, but I don’t know if I can continue to deal with the way it raises my blood-pressure.
