This game isn't designed very well. No offense to the developer or anything, this game just is not executed well at all in my opinion. I bought this game on steam while it was heavily discounted, but I also bought this game on the Nintendo switch for full price and that's where my gripes mainly come from. On the switch you obviously use a controller to play but the default button layout is so abhorrent it should be studied. Most of enemies had uninspired blob designs and then there's an orange evil wobbuffet that shoots projectiles at you which just pissed me off to no end. They for some reason have infinite range and take way to many bullets to kill. On keyboard and mouse a lot of my issues are fixed, since you don't have to choose between shooting, aiming, and jumping and can do all of them simultaneously. Playing with a keyboard made the game feel less like juggling flaming chainsaws and more like playing an actual video game. My final issue with the game though is the way you unlock new worlds. You need to not only complete all the levels in a world, but also grind an arbitrary amount of score across all levels. Which was the final nail in the coffin for me. Will I revisit this game in the future? Possibly. Is this game worth it's base price? in my opinion, not at all. Are all my grievances with this game due to my lack of skill? Most definitely.
