This is the second visual novel I played and I was litle surprised by how few choices there are. The game is basically a movie with four different paths with a heroine. Choices don't really matter to the story, only the last one decides which route you go on. - Pro * Great Art * Memorable Characters * Good for those who enjoy Anime tropes * Good Music - Cons * Choices don't matter except for last one which decides route * Story route can be 'convenient' at times, especially heroine's affection towards MC * Play once and never play again

i havent found VN with story like this, so maybe you can expect some fresh story from this one i know you might think this one is looks like aokana, but im pretty sure it is much different from aokana, because of the story driven. the developer can divide between romance story and the competition thing to be balanced. and last, damn nahoko is thicc af ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Good Plot , The Fairy Fights themselves are really nicely detailed and thrilling at times, Also enjoyed reading the titbits of the WW2 planes.. Common route is really nice and adds a nice buildup to the Main routes The characters are lovable, and have unique Art design which i kinda like here.. Scene spacing is what i did not like about this VN, But its a minor complaint... Overall its a great read..

Well, I had a lot of fun with this one, I have to say. It seems expensive at first, but considering that the ride took me 46 hours on max reading speed (which means: as fast as the actors speak), it's more than OK. You get about 15-20 hours of a common route where all the things to come are being set up. And then you can choose each girls route to follow further for 6-10 hours each. HINT: Place a save game conveniently when the choice pops up. So you can easily navigate all routes after another. HINT2: The really lewd stuff exclusively happens in the character routes. So, sorry. But you need to hold back until then... I actually would have liked being able to date Saiko though... She's a very sweet person too. All of the girls have very different personalities and they didn't feel like cardboard cutouts of the usual bunch. Some of them feel like one at first. But while following the story, it's becoming clear, that none of them actually is. Which is great. Even with such different girls, I ended up liking and caring about each single one eventually, as they and "me" overcome some struggle or resolve some long standing isues in their life. Or just grow as a person. I actually don't know what the 18+ Patch unlocks. But I guess, only the explicit scenes. If I had to chose (well, I did...) I'd say: Get the patch. Just because why not. Ah, and btw: The story about planes and aerial combat is also pretty unusual and nicely done. I'm into planes myself. So I didn't just get this for the cute girls. I swear! It has good pacing for the most part. I had to force myself to stop reading every evening. The voice acting is honestly fantastic in ANY situation. (I mean: ANY. For some scenes, you should consider using headphones. Trust me. ;D) The drawings are nice. Vivid colors. Highly detailed backgrounds. Also the lew ones. (and 100% explicit, when it counts.) In 2 or 3 panels, Junichis body is kinda weird though. He looks much older and has darker skin tone than he should. But oh well. Who looks at the guy anyway, right? XD There is quite an assortment of music in this, to suit the scenes. So I felt, it was not as repetitive as it often is with VNs. Only one technical thing: Sometimes, some voices are way too quiet when multiple people have a conversation. That happens throughout the whole game from time to time. So, to wrap it up: Technically sound, good art, Nice story, nice girls, nice planes, fantastic voice acting. A lot of bang for the buck. It's an eroge, but it has to offer much more than just that. Pretty happy with it.

It's a shame that UOW is recognized by very small community, cuz it's very good eroge pros: +overall decent story +likeable characters +modern and beautiful character design +best h-scenes ever, they are really good because there no mosaic, it's very long and most importanly they are equal, meaning it's not about pleasure of MC only like in every other vn (like bj then sex/handj then sex/footf then sex etc) +wholesome love stories (not as wholesome as, for example, in Smee VNs like Making Lovers or Sugar Style but it can be forgiven because aforementioned novels are about romance only w/o any other plots) there is cons ofc, but they are not really significant, but it would be fair to mention them, so here we go: -Nahoko route - idk what the hell was that, it's just bad with big B, both in terms of love story and in terms of h-scenes (only exception in the game), also her route has side character with very unpleasant voice and she makes appearence fairly often -Play one route after another consistently can be boring because routes are more or less connected to fairy fights plot In addition, if u like to play eroge with only one girl - just pick Kazusa, she is incredible in her route

I like visual novels, this was probably the 9th or 10th one I played. Personally, I felt that each of the routes had many plot holes or pacing jumps which took away from the experience for me. Nahoko's VA was also a little hard to listen to. The art is good, the H-scenes (if you get them) are good, and the music is ok, but overall I think you could get a better game for the price.

Under One Wing is a Visual Novel that really reminded me of "If my Heart had Wings", with the same kind of Setting and everything. This one had a few advantages though cause you get a very good Translation and Voice Acting which makes every VN just a lot better. I also really enjoy the Art and if you play with the R18 Patch you really not only get a good amount of Fanservice, but it really improves the Romance Aspect of this Game. They did a great Job with the Personalities and the Relationships with the Girls. I am sure that you will enjoy all the different Girls and that there will be one that you are going to like the most. Back to the Story, you enroll in a School, where everyone flighs with their Planes and have the Luck that the Dorm you stay in only has cute Girls. Together with them you participate in Flight Battles. If you are interested in World War 2 planes, or planes in general this VN will be perfect for you, but even if you arent especially looking for that, but a great Romance Story, then you will also really enjoy this Game. It really just is like "If my Heart had Wings" just that you dont need the Community Patch to make it great. It isnt perfect for sure, but it is really enjoyable and if you have a thing for Romance Stories and cute Girls you will really enjoy it. Overall i would give it a 9/10 since it really does a lot right. Check out my Currator Page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/34401214/

Final Rating TDLR If you like slice of life feel good VNs and don't mind a touch of fighting plane action, recommend. 7.5/10, rounds up to an 8. Overall I liked it. I would say its biggest strengths are: * All the characters are pretty likable and funny, outside maybe one prominent character in Mimari's route who was written to be unlikable * It has some nice feel good/emotional moments throughout * Unique enough setting with the plane fighting and stuff to make it stick out from other galge. * Character development is decent enough for each character. I'd say its biggest weaknesses are: * Romance seems slightly rushed in each route * The routes are obviously formulaic: Route starts -> Romance starts -> H-scene + SoL x3-5 -> Drama outta nowhere -> EPIC PLANE FLIGHT * While not as bad as say... Muv-Luv every so once in a while the plane explanations are a little too long-winded for a plane noob like me who isn't particularly into fighting planes. * Nahoko and Hikari's voice acting volumes aren't balanced very well with the otehrs and there's no way to adjust individual character volumes. Some other thoughts that are more like observations: * It has a slightly unique art style. While still anime style, all the drawings are... stencil-y? * Those H-scenes are loooooonnnnnnnnnggg * Only 1 choice mattering, I don't particularly whether choices really count as long as the story/characters are good Overall Character Rankings Kazusa > Hikari > Mimari > Nahoko Kazusa- I've stated multiple times but from the beginning but I was VERY impressed with how they handled her as a tsundere. Very reasonable and willing to admit her mistakes and be openly caring of others while still having the typical tsundere trait of being dishonest with her feelings to allow for decent development. Hikari- I thought she would be a generic optimistic ditzy character... well she still basically was by the end but I actually like the way her character was executed in terms of motivating the rest of the team. Also she was pretty funny and a surprisingly good troll humor wise. Sadly she herself didn't develop much. Mimari- The closest thing to a mysterious/kuudere character. While she did have her blunt side, she mixed it with otherwise being very friendly for the most part and only being harsh to people who really deserve it. Her bluntness provided some good humor. Her past was clearly the most deep and interesting. Nahoko- She had some funny moments and is likable enough but she felt oddly... underused even though she was supposed to be the leader? Even in her route I liked the concept of her development but some parts were executed oddly. Overall Route Rankings Hikari > Kazusa > Nahoko > Mimari Hikari- Arguably the most simple route, Hikari herself doesn't have too much development BUT you get to see the positive motivation she has on everyone the most here and it's really nice to see. Also her backstory related to her plane was the cutest. Her development with her plane was the most memorable to me as well. Kazusa- Mostly carried due to the fact that Junichi and her had the most interactions in the common route due to their living situation so them getting together quickly actually kinda made sense. Her development being centered around her insecurities was nice. Nahoko- As stated in her character writeup, I like the idea of her development in her route related to working herself hard to not knowing what she wanted to do and related to her and Junichi not being officially together right away. But... some parts were executed weirdly. Still enjoyed it. Mimari- Her route had arguably the most plot relevance in terms of characters involved in a way that felt like a true route. I personally wasn't a big fan of the typical running away from an arranged marriage trope being the main plot. It caused MImari herslef to not have room to develop in an interesting way outside using her Grandma's plane temporarily. Still was overall decent. Overall H-scene Rankings Kazusa > Mimari > Nahoko > Hikari Won't go into much detail besides Kazusa's were much better than everyone else's. If you wanna know more details just PM or @ me or something. Overall Plane Rankings A6M5 Type Zero Model 52 > Kyushu J7W Shinden > Spitfire LF mk.lXc > Ki-46 III Otsu + Hei > Ki-44 Shoki Zero- I like the specs and features of it the most. Also has the cutest relations to the plot/route. Shinden- Kinda unfair due to plot and MC relevance but can't beat that speed and firepower. Spitfire- Mostly for the plot/route relevance. Ki-46- Has an interesting design. Shoki- Least memorable. Characters I want a route of most Rankings Akane > Katou > Saiko > Haruka > who cares Akane- I usually like down to earth girls who have potential to be fun. Not sure where her development would be though. Katou- A very confident girl who would have interesting developments Id imagine. Saiko- Seems like the obvious choice but... she did have more of an obsession with machines and god what the fuck are those boobs size wise Haruka- She's nice and all but given when happens in Kazusa's I would feel bad. Favorite Song It's Counterattack Time! (Sadly not on YouTube at the moment, may have to fix that myself)

A genuine and wholesome visual novel full of characters that can only be described as angels. Whether it's the tsundere who's too caring for her own good or the airhead with no concept of personal space, every girl is absolutely adorable and destined to give you a severe case of diabetes from sweetness overdose. Pacing is a little inconsistent, it can feel like a whole lot of nothing is going on, or that you skipped over some major developments in a few lines. But when you have cute girls and dogfights hand in hand it's barely a negative. If there's anything to complain about it's that the individual routes don't address every plot thread brought up in the common route, and as a result there are some pretty jarring jumps between each route. Each successive ending will just serve to remind you of all the unresolved issues for the other girls, and the lack of true or harem ending to tie them altogether neatly is quite evident. You notice this most because one of the great mysteries of the novel is the background of one of the girls, but her identity is never explored outside of her route. A secondary complaint is that the dialogue choices are not worth mentioning at all, in fact they were so inconsequential that (assuming the update today was to fix them) despite what choice you picked the dialogue would always loop back on itself after playing the response to your choice and play the response to the final choice. After completing the common route you're just given a prompt to select which heroine you would like to focus on. No need for guides on this one at least! Anyway I'm off to get my degree in aviation history now.
