Chook & Sosig: Walk the Plank is a cute little adventure game. It's kind of neat to have a game inside a game concept, although it perhaps would have worked better if we had gotten a bit more time to meet the characters who were playing the table-top RPG before we jumped straight into their fantasy world. The adventure itself is... okay. The graphics are cute, the music is cheerful, the dialog is wholesome... just the puzzles feel a bit too simple. It's mostly just walk here, fetch that. Sometimes you half solve a puzzle before you know the reason to do the puzzle. Other times it's not clear how to proceed because things that previously were not interactive become interactive, so you end up randomly revisiting all the locations just to see if anything changed. Still, the overall vibe of the game is so charming that you can't really give it a thumbs down. Might be more fun for younger or newer adventure gamers than experienced point and click fans.

Super cute point & click adventure game. Art style is great, characters are cute & funny, music is enjoyable. I bought it on sale (it is 75% off now until 3/23/23) and it is totally worth it!

Chook & Sosig thrives on its unique style that blends cutesy and dark while maintaining its family friendly quality. The characters are very likable, the writing is clever, the artstyle is pretty, the soundtrack is marvellous. Some puzzles can be rough but there is always the option to get hints, wich is quite valuable. I'd personally just hope, future games in the Chook & Sosig universe will return to the more spooky setting and choose-your-own-adventure gameplay of "A case of murder". I would nonetheless definitely recommend this game for its sheer optimistic and wholesome charm.

This game gets some things right - the humour is actually funny. The story, while simple, is interesting. The graphics are charming. However, I have no idea why the reviews on Steam are so positive, the negatives outweigh the positives and spoil the gameplay. Although the game is small, there is too much navigation. The game is broken up into islands, most of which are a single screen. You have to sail on a boat between islands, which adds a lot of boring navigation time. The other area where the game falls down is the puzzles. The puzzles are mostly easy, which is fine for me, but there are a few that are poorly designed or clued. Also, you often have to go back and talk to everyone to see if anything has changed. Also, the ending is really poor. The game just ends suddenly with no wrap up, I assume the developers ran out of funds to properly complete the game. I wanted to like this game since good adventure games are few and far between. Unfortunately this isn't a good adventure game so I can't recommend it.

How to ruin a game: - quick abrupt ending - automatically delete save game so there is no way to check for different endings - kill all replay motivation - kthxbye

This game is awesomely drawn, music really compliments different locations and the gameplay is of a classic hidden object quest with a pirate twist. You'll have a great time with this game.

The sad thing is this game starts out great and so much fun! About the first hour or so was awesome, and the cuts from "pirate world" into the group of guys playing D&D were genuinely hilarious. Unfotunately, as the game proceeds, it devolves into just going from island to island over and over again, revisiting the people you know in hopes a new dialogue option or a new item will show up. Sometimes there's logic to it - in which case, all the travelling forth and back is mildly annoying but manageable - but often there's not and you just go around clicking around the whole map for two hours. Both of the two endings are abrupt and just extremely meh. Though it was relatively short, I kinda wish the game ended sooner because my initial impression was great... until it wasn't... and at the end I was annoyed but still relieved that it was finally over.

A really comfy game with charming atmosphere. Pros: - Absolutely beautiful artstyle, everything's just charming and cute; - Lovely characters and great interactions between them. You can really feel the love of the developer to their creations; - Interesting story with several endings; - Fitting and pretty catchy music; - Dialogues are interesting, although somewhat repetitive when you get close to the ending. Cons: - A LOT of going back and forth with constant (but short) loading screens between locations; - Most of the puzzles are really easy and basically come down to "go there, bring this, come back, get that"; - Occasional frame drops? In some particular places (near the port on the very first island) your character just moves rapidly accross the screen, while doing fine anywhere else. - Some animations could be smoother, in some places you could definetely see all 3-4 still images following one another. - Item descriptions could be better. Often when you click on an interactible it just describes it shortly. For instance, you click on a flower pot with flamingo ornament on it and it says "It is a flower pot with flamingo ornament on it". That's it. Nothing else. Conclusuion: It's a really comfy, I'd say soothing experience. Loved every character, every interaction and the story was fun to follow. You'll have fun for 2-3 hours, finish the game and forget about it forever, but I'd say the price is worth it. Buy it to support the developer, cause provided more time, budget and experience, they'll surely surprise us with an even better game.
