7/10

It could be much better, but not for much less than 100mb /& 5$.

If the screenshots/video interests you then buy it. It is what it is, which is relaxing, minimal, and 'not too difficult'.
That is..
this is more physics-and-reaction-based than it is a puzzle game. I'm only halfway through the game, so the level challenge and degree of puzzling could progressively increase from after that point.
What is needed 'in this game' is better Steam achievements, if not a better system in the game that can automatically recognize trick-shots (ie. when you have any strokes to spare at the end of a hole) and kind of track your progress.. I mean this is f
ricke
n golf, bro! You play by yourself, and against yourself, by keeping track of your swings, arguably progress for all of history!! And, the only progress being tracked is whether or not a hole has been completed, and not in any way how memorably I've ever finished one, before. Translation:
NO HIGH-SCORES RECORDED in this game or its periphery, and that's a shame because its an easy feature to have included.
Next off controls (on PC?) are frustrating because there's absolutely no marking, let alone annotating where you began 'your swing' on screen that tracks where your cursor is, or where you 1st left-clicked to start a swing, in order to determine your shooting direction & power, other than the graphics which follow the ball (eg. while its moving) rather than your cursor (eg. being kept relatively still); combine that with the bad handling of a swing when the cursor is (accidentally) near the game-stage's and-screen's edge which is "always fixed", and one in the same, like all the screens in Caves of Qud are. In other words, game-play suffers due to the controls; it only gets in the way sometimes, but when it does it can be very annoying. So, with all the major business out of the way, and tabled then, therefore, I can only say this is a charming, itty-bitty game with arguably plenty of slightly-bizarre levels
(so far, to the halfway point)
. It's more fun and relaxing than it is frustrating, or demanding, but I did actually, genuinely enjoy playing through the design in, and the challenges of some holes, although you might need to invest a solid hour into it before seeing and feeling that charm for yourself, particularly if this didn't already come with that window-shop appeal, before your purchase.
