Before Deadside’s Update 1.2, the game was well-balanced and enjoyable for both solo players and small groups. Now, raiding bases is way too easy, while upgrading them is far too difficult, making it nearly impossible to defend your progress. If you’re in a small group (or solo), you will get offline raided every time, as large groups can wipe out bases with little effort. The update has completely shifted the balance in favor of big clans, leaving smaller players with no real chance to survive long-term. Deadside was once a fair and strategic survival game, but Update 1.2 has made it nearly unplayable for anyone without a large squad. If the devs don’t rebalance the system, small-group and solo players will likely abandon the game altogether. Do you recommend this game? NOT AT THE MOMENT

Like this game very much, But would not recommend anyone to buy it cause its still to much Beta, If you build something you have 15 min to regret it or it will be permant and you cant remove it if you wanna rebuild the base. The building system is way under all criticism.

A Missed Opportunity in the Survival Genre Deadside had the potential to be a thrilling survival experience, but it falls short in several key areas. The AI enemies are laughably unintelligent, making combat more of a chore than a challenge. Their predictable behavior and lack of tactical awareness make encounters feel repetitive and unengaging. Base building, a staple of the genre, is clunky and frustrating. The building mechanics are cumbersome, and the limited options for customization leave much to be desired. It feels like an afterthought, rather than a core feature of the game. Overall, Deadside fails to deliver on its promises.

The server I was max rank on was deleted without warning and hundreds of hours of work were wasted. I would avoid this one. There really isnt enough content to justify the price, It doesnt even know what game it wants to be they are just copying rust. Not to mention the AI bots are brain dead and just get bottlenecked in doorways so you run into 19 of them in one spot and they kill you. They have a long way to go to make this not suck.

I bought Deadside on day one of EA. It became my main for years. We grew a decent but small community around it. Then one day the devs turned it into Rust. And my favourite game was gone. I wish I could load the pre-alpha version and turn off updates.

Do not recommend . Game has exploits that they wont fix and allow players to use them with no repercussions , Along with the cheaters. Trash game. Better off playing rust. A lot better game.

they keep deleting servers so you have to start all over again, with all the hours you put in not worth it

Deadside is a prime example of a game with great potential that is completely wasted due to poor execution. The concept is interesting, blending survival mechanics with a harsh open world, but everything around that core idea just falls apart. First off, the community is toxic to the point where it drives away new players. Veteran players with thousands of hours in the game will actively sabotage any chance newcomers have of learning the ropes. Instead of offering help, they belittle and insult anyone who isn’t already an expert. It’s almost as if they’re trying to keep the playerbase small and elitist. The inventory system is another disaster. There’s no explanation of where items should go in your character’s gear slots, leaving you to guess what fits where. To make matters worse, item stacking is unintuitive and awkward. Sorting through loot feels like a chore rather than a rewarding experience, which is a huge letdown in a survival game where inventory management is key. Vehicle controls are laughably bad. Whether you're trying to escape a dangerous situation or just navigate the world, the vehicles feel sluggish and unresponsive. They handle like you're driving on ice, making any sort of meaningful travel an exercise in frustration. The AI is another major flaw. Enemy NPCs have ridiculously far aggro ranges, so it's nearly impossible to move around without triggering every hostile in sight. Combine this with difficulty scaling that feels completely out of whack, and you have a game that punishes you for simply existing in its world. Encounters are often more difficult than they should be, making progression feel like an uphill battle where you’re constantly fighting just to survive. Overall, Deadside feels unfinished, unbalanced, and riddled with frustrating mechanics. While the idea is solid, the execution is far from it. The game desperately needs better community management, more intuitive mechanics, and a complete overhaul of its core systems if it ever hopes to become the game it could have been.

Not Recommended – Deadside Is a Buggy Cash Grab! After five years, Deadside has barely progressed. Updates are minimal—just enough to keep players hoping, but never delivering on real improvements. At this point, it feels like nothing more than a cash grab filled with false promises. The CEO of TinyBuild just now bought a server to experience the game firsthand, which tells you everything about their level of involvement. Instead of fixing what’s broken, they remove content—lighters for fires, high walls, sandbags, and paint kits (which now only function for repairs). Vehicles? Still boring and absurdly loud. AI? Somehow even worse than before. The dev team’s priorities are completely off. Instead of addressing core issues, they come up with terrible ideas like adding a radar that shows players on the map. Meanwhile, their Discord mods (in a 40k-member server!) are completely clueless, asking the same questions as regular players because even they are left in the dark. And now, rather than fixing PC, they’re trying to cash in on a console release, seemingly abandoning the player base that supported them for five years. If you're thinking about buying Deadside—don't. It’s a half-baked project running on fumes, and the developers don’t seem to care.
