The Hs 129 was designed to be a general purpose armored ground attack plane, but during the second part of the war it became the main anti-tank aircraft flown by the Luftwaffe.

Germany had the greatest idea of strapping two engines to a tractor, and adding 20 and 30mm cannons on it.
Truly an A-10 of WW2.

cant fire the large 30 mm individually yet you can fire the smaller 20mm individually and it sounds like a bigger gun when firing the 20mm compared to the 30mm cant really aim in the 30mm all that well with all the mg fire only reason i bought the duck was for the cannon

The classic "duck" its a huge, slow plane with lots of armor and even bigger guns.
+Dedicated ground attack aircraft. Wanna feel like you're using an A-10 in WW2? There's a few planes you can choose to try and feel that and this is definitely one of them.
+Its a thick box of flying metal. Slow, flying brick but it sure hits like a brick being thrown at your head too. Fun to fly and packs a good punch.
+As usual nice looking camos (maybe a bit less nicer then some others) and fun modifications to use.
Very fun plane.

In my novice opinion this thing is the closest you can get to an A-10 in this game. It is made of Arnold Schwarzenegger's stem cells and the finest Valerian steel. Stable, smooth, just a dream to fly. If you are on the receiving end, I'm sure it would be a nightmare. This plane makes short work of pretty much whatever you point it at. Tanks are tougher, but that makes sense. I was thrilled to see it on sale, but now after using it I would happily pay full price for it.

This plane has its ups and downs. It kinda feels slightly more maneuverable than the sluggish 110 but you lack a rear gunner and have little to no rear visibility. The top visibility is nice though and you can maneuver to the side and look over your shoulder out the roof so it isn't bad.
It has some cool guns and options and doesn't require reloading like the 110which is a plus. I even took out a KV-1 once with the 30mm gun (mk103) though it was a lucky fluke. I hammered like 40-50rds up the rear of another KV-1 and all I did was disable it, never really destroyed it. Just a 30mm though so I couldn't really expect much.
Anyway, it has some quirks. Unlike the Messerschmitt, the RPM isn't automated based on throttle. It will "automate" to the point of keeping the RPM at combat speed so you don't have to worry about fluctuations. In level fuel saving flight though you will have to manage the RPM yourself the way you would in the MC202 if you cut off the automation.
Overall, a fun plane and I recommend it if you enjoy ground attack planes.

Not for the faint of heart! Its ugly. That we all can agree on but on the other hand she has a unique beauty as well. All I can say is DON'T LOOSE YOUR SPEED! This will lead to an untimely death for sure but if you can get the gun on target, HOLD ON because whatever you hit is going to be dead. No questions asked. Kind of wonkey to fly at first but once you get a feel for it its fun to fly.

I love it, i am flying this Cannon-mounting Bus on a PWCG campaign and it is an excellent experience.
It is quirky, slow, heavy but boy oh boy does she pack a punch. Skimming at tree-top level with flaps down this beast will tear up an enemy column like a llama through butter, just don't expect to push the throttle forward and have her respond quickly. She is powered by cut-price lawnmower engines.
As beautiful as she is to fly she is a horror at 2 things:
1. TAKING OFF If you struggle (and at first you will) there are some good vids available. The secret is to build up your engine's RPM before releasing the brakes and then SLOWLY building up power whilst using foot brakes to keep you straight. She certainly lands easier than she takes off.
2. CLIMBING As lovely as the Hs129 is on the attack you need to think hard about how you are going to pull away after your attack, watch those hills! Trees are not a problem (no more than usual) but if you need to climb quickly to avoid a hill then you dun goofed in your attack line.
If you want to fly the A-10's German Grandfather then this is your baby

I was a big fan of the Commando comics as a kid, and I still remember one issue that featured the Hs 129 with the huge 70mm cannon. Sadly this model doesn't have that 70mm gun, but otherwise it seems to be a really nice plane to fly. Very stable flyer, easy to land, good visibility from the cockpit, all the gauges laid out in a clear to see manner, lots of firepower, distinctive rugged looks... what's not to like?
There is a minor bug, though. Maybe it's just me, but if you have the engine management aid turned off, the UI will claim you are flying at 'combat power' practically all the time, even when you have the historical prop RPM limiter on the automatic and the throttle well below the 1.25 ata as stated in the specs. Fortunately this has no impact on the engine durability, it's just slightly annoying. Problem goes away if you switch the engine management aid on, but then you can't put the engines on the take-off throttle because that requires manually decreasing the prop pitch angle.
