I rather play FlatOut 3 than Fast Dust.

Pretty jank sometimes but it gets the job done of scratching the dirty/rough looking car itch

So to summarize, this is a quite good, enjoyable, mostly off-road arcade racing game. In my opinion it stands just a few steps from greatness. A few tweaks here and there, would make it great, indeed. - The Good: I like the graphics, the car design, the tracks, the sense of speed, the car's dashboards, the mean and heavy sound of the engines (which sounds like chopper motorcycles), the breakable objects, the short background story is a nice touch too... its a cool and pretty solid game. Feels original. The driving feels quite nice and relaxing and I love how the developer added a lot of additional options in the controls screen such as steering and breaking sensitivity and camera distance... a welcome feature indeed. In my opinion it sets itself apart from most quickly put together driving games selling on steam, but there is still room for improvement. - The Flaws, based on my experience: * The biggest issue is opponent A.I. or their driving paths: After completing 30 races, I can say it's always the same story. I leave all my opponents in the dust after completing 3 to 5% of each track, they never catch me. It's too easy. I use the cars I win in bets, whenever I get a new car, I try it out. I had zero needs for buying any car upgrades or shortcut maps, I don't even have turbo. * The Fog: The fog is the biggest culprit for massive FPS drop. Please add an option to disable the fog effect... or maybe you can reprogram the fog to be displayed with some other technique that will be less process-consuming. * Traction of the tracks. In my opinion the tracks could be more slippery. As of now I honestly don't feel any difference racing on asphalt or snow or sand. Also the sound of the wheels steering on sand is the same as the sound of wheels steering on asphalt, this could be improved. *Each time I crash into an opponent, or anything else, the feeling is a bit glitchy. Must be a combination of camera shake and a bit weird collision physics. *Draw Distance is not the best in this game, smaller objects keep appearing out of nowhere, such as bushes, not too distracting, but still worth mentioning. * A look back camera key would be very welcome. * The camera distance control setting, would be nice if I could put more distance in the view. * The music is not bad, the symphonic "metal" track is my favorite, but it's all too repetitive. However I like to put my own music on when I race, so that's not a big issue at all. It's a good game, as I said just a few steps of tweaking from reaching greatness. I hope to see some updates, and I hope to see a Fast Dust 2 in the near future :) I recommend this game, if you love such racing games, I think, despite its flaws it's worth having in your library.

It's a fun little racer. If you're a hardcore racing game nut like me, you might also enjoy it. Menus are very basic, not much juice going on, but the racing is fun. Difficulty level is easy, with the AI drivers spending a lot of their time crashing and getting left behind. It's fun to win and blasting through all 70 races in career mode should be fairly easy. Having 70 tracks is enough to keep me busy for a while, the physics are pretty good and the engine sounds are pretty good too. Generally, this game is alright. I think for a solo project it's pretty amazing and I appreciate all the work that's gone into it.
Fun, fast paced, arcade racing game
Come with the right expectations, and I think you'll like this indie, single dev project. The game is not AAA and has a bunch of shortcomings, but the handling of the car and the physics are engaging enough to keep you playing. Sadly the AI is very bland and not really a challenge. The good

Good physics, cars feel heavy, asphalt or gravel feel different.
Nice car models, they really fit the setting.
Rain and snow and night races.
This dev loves to put destructables on the streets, so you'll be able to smash boxes, fences, gates, and other trash lying around.
Cars take damage that will persist trough races if not fixed.
T U R B O
The unexpected The writing and setting are fairly interesting for a racing game. The bland

Soundscape sucks, the engines sound nice, but drifting will make your tires screech no mater if you're on gravel, dirt or asphalt.
Soundtrack sucks. I turned it off after 5 minutes and played something else on the bg, recommend you do the same.
Tracks are nice and well designed, challenging, but the "tileset" gets old really fast (and it comes with a feeling of Deja Vu, "didn't I just drive trough here?").
Tracks feel empty, absolutely no living things other than cars, no crowds cheering. This actually fits with the setting, but coming from other racing games I did miss the crowds going wild as I drive past them.
The AI. It's really easy beating the AI, it will drive aggressively, which is good and engaging, as the AI will try to drive you off the road or slam at you, sadly, the AI is equally aggressive against walls, rocks or other no-destructible objects. Very often I see the AI driving past me just to crash into a wall or something, and for the time it's back on the road I'm already way ahead of it.

tldr: there are tons of racing games out there, many arguably better, but if you want some post-apocaliptic racing, or like muscle cars, then you'll probably enjoy this
I appreciate this game running natively on Linux

Not happy I have to do this as I don't like posting negative reviews but here it is... I can't recommend this game as it doesn't have full controller support; you push the thumbstick forward for throttle and back for braking, the triggers serve no purpose whatsoever. (at least not with my M$ Elite or Xbone S controllers) Graphically I can't say I had any problems with it and I do like the design of the cars... but a game that I can drive as well with the KBD as I can with the controller with a price tag this high I can only say that you should avoid it. (at least 'til they make a controller a viable full functioning option...)

Fast Dust Positives: + acceptable graphics + some good tracks + you drive from A to B + cool cars + handling is good enough + physics are mostly ok + good sense of speed + ok carieer mode + good for beginners Negatives: - too easy for everyone else, you loose the opponents almost immediately - no option to change the difficulty level - a lot of bugs, both small and more serious ones - partly glitchy graphics and physics - only 4(!) music tracks that you get tired of right away - the fog makes the framerate choppy - draw distance is not far enough - more variation would make the game better and more fun This game has a feeling of Flatout and Mad Max. But its not as fun or well done. Dont get me wrong, its an ok low budget arcade racer, and has its moments. But dont expect too much. Total Score: 6.5/10 Fun fact: Fast dust means solid jerk in my language (norwegian).
