Despite the new currency and actual reason to play the game, the veterans are just not fun to go against. I don't play this game 24/7 unlike them, and every match is just met with airbenders rather than earthbenders. Not to mention the awful player-dependant latency that you need to gamble for if you want your moves to actually register. Other than that, the gameplay and moves themselves are stunningly good, and very engaging. But it all kind of goes down the drain when you go against the veterans. Hard to get better if the game won't allow it.

If you are using an oculus quest, the moves are 10X harder to do. If your hands are an inch away from the correct placement then the move won't go through. On the quest the controllers are kind of bad at tracking, especially if you are laggy, so you can't consistently do the moves.

I'm really intrigued by this game's premise...but man I can only seem to perform the combos correctly maybe 10% of the time. I'm sure it's a skill issue, but how long am I supposed to practice moves before I can reliably perform them at least 50% of the time? It feels like the tolerance for the movements is way to tight.

I'm currently addicted to this game. It's definitely not easy to learn, but once you do, it is the best feeling ever. my only complaint is that there aren't many people at the moment, but hopefully when it is out of beta it'll be more popular.

This game is not like any other out there, "anything you learn in other games you don't need here."I think that was quoted by shoeless. It is all gestures, no buttons, no external tech, just perfect gestures. If something is wrong, you are the problem.

This is a great vr earth bending game, probably THE best. it does cost money, BUT it's EXTREMELY worth the cost. also if you are having trouble, consider joining the shoeless discord server.

Difficult game to get into, but amazing friendly community and LOTS to learn. If you enjoy the feedback loop of a constantly refining your strategies and developing your own style through mechanically difficult mind games and strategy, you'll love this game once you see what it can be. Don't expect instant matchmaking though.

I got this game when it came out and played it for a little while, then got bored. Back then there was only a handful of actually 'good' players, so you were almost always fighting someone around your skill level, which was perfect. I replayed it today after years of leaving it and of course I had completely forgotten most of what I learned, not much of an issue I will just go into multiplayer to re-learn it all... The problem is that there is pretty much no skill-based matchmaking, you just get paired up with whoever since there are so few players. This presents a HUGE issue because you will often go up against someone 10 or even 50 times better at the game than you. You will stand NO chance against them, and you learn nothing for it since they - no joke - beat you in a matter of seconds. I ran into someone today that just made me quit right after. Match starts, he zips towards me faster than I have seen anyone move in the game and does some Naruto Earth-Style Jutsu type beat to fling rocks and discs and walls and pillars at me, and in 5-10 seconds, the fight was over. I could not even get ONE move off before I was beaten. It was a horrible experience, and it made me realize that this game is just not worth it get in to as a new or inexperienced player. Also, the casting style is still extremely restrictive like it was back when I first played. You need to do the EXACT hand gestures to pull something off, and sometimes you will just be doing the same gesture over and over until you finally get it right. If you have limited or slow arm mobility like I do, it is difficult to do many of the moves. Bottom line is: It's a fun game if you have someone to play with at your skill level and get better with, otherwise it's a horrendous experience that makes you want to stop playing.
