Hey, I have played this game for like 32 min and i can say that, it's not like the first game they made, and that sad i know they wanted to make something new and cool for lego games, but this game isn't it. It doesn't feel like the normale lego game (that doesn't mean it a bad lego game not my type of lego game) and i like the first The Lego movie the videogame and that game feel like a lego game but this is more weird idk why and i can say really why i have that meaning. hope this help

This is not a game. It is a cinematic EXPERIENCE! Why play a game and immerse yourself when you can watch cutscene after cutscene AFTER fucking CUTSCENE. Barely 20 minutes into this Cinema™ and i have played for maybe 5. I LOVE IT. But enough about the UNSKIPPABLE cutscenes. Lets get into the 5 minutes i've played. The building system is so much fun, no longer a scattering of jumping lego bricks where i need to hold a button, its streamlined. I open my building book, and i choose a preset build, I click build and then BOOOM! mission accomplished. Fun achieved. I feel like a real handyman now instead of a man-child complaining about a lego game. And traversal, oh my my my. A wasteland of nothing with a quest 1000 miles away. I love having a walking simulator because im too much of a loser to do it in real life. No run button because then i can really take in the world. All the beiges and browns, gorgeous. I get on my school bus sized unikitty and ,again, walk and i get stuck on a single stud. The realism is perfect. The controls are on another level, you use wasd to move AND hold down the left click. Like a point and click adventure. Not only a 10/10 lego game, but a 10/10 game that you need to play before you die. I will finish my review after i am finished with this masterpiece.

I don't understand the hate this game is getting. Is it the best Lego game? No. Is it the worst Lego game? Also no. I like that they switched up the standard Lego game formula and made it different than their other games. I will admit that it does kinda feel weird that they went a different direction compared to the prequel and it does feel sttange that there isn't any dialogue between the cast or barely any "challenging" puzzles like the previous game. I still enjoyed my time. Buy it on sale.

It is really good. Though it would be better if we could use the mouse to look around, because some puzzles are hard due to the auto camera change

A game loosely based on the Lego Movie 2. Early Lego games has missions and free play where You could play the missions with any figurines You unlocked. Later games added open world with some collectibles and errands. This game only has the open world, no missions or free play, in which the plot takes place. Finishing the main story before exploring saves a lot of time... and leave the buildings You have to rebuild for last.

I fully 100% completed the game and can absolutely verify that the gameplay structure becomes monotonous. The longer you play, the more you'll notice that the game leans significantly on fetch quests and collection objectives. Regarding the storyline, it existed, but it seemed more fragmented and lacked the same coherence as the film.
