Retro Snake huh i like it https://youtu.be/t_dLoOXy8PA?feature=shared ?...hiss... In the glow of the neon arcade light, I’m the first, the start, the digital knight. Born of pixels, simple and clean, A looping journey on a glowing screen. I twist, I turn, a hungry spree, Chasing fruit through infinity. But as I grow, a danger looms, My tail’s a trap, my endless doom. I’m the first game, the pioneer, A timeless loop, a thrill, a fear. I wrap around, I can’t escape, Caught in the maze of my own fate. Fruit by fruit, I play, I fight, The endless chase, day and night. The cherries gleam, the apples shine, A feast of colors, all mine, all mine. But every bite, a longer trail, A careful dance where I might fail. The edges blur, I slip, I glide, But my own shadow’s where I collide. In this arcade, I’m both the prey, And the hunter on this endless play. I’m the first game, the pioneer, A timeless loop, a thrill, a fear. I wrap around, I can’t escape, Caught in the maze of my own fate. Fruit by fruit, I play, I fight, The endless chase, day and night. The crowd cheers loud, the joystick shakes, Every move is the one I make. Through glowing grids and pulsing tunes, I’m the heart of these pixel moons. No rules but one, survive the race, A master of this confined space. As decades pass, I remain, An icon etched in gaming’s vein. A looping path, an eternal trend, The first to start, no end to end. I’m a lesson, a challenge, a thrill to claim, The spirit of the arcade game. I’m the first game, the pioneer, A timeless loop, a thrill, a fear. I wrap around, I can’t escape, Caught in the maze of my own fate. Fruit by fruit, I play, I fight, The endless chase, day and night. So here I spin, through time, through space, Forever trapped in this digital race. A simple start, but a legend’s flame, The world’s first game, remember my name.
#tinygamereviews
Do we give kudos for half-hearted attempts at rehashing decades-old games, or...? It was cloned as Bigfoot Bonkers the same year. In 1977, Atari, Inc. released two Blockade-inspired titles: the arcade game Dominos and Atari VCS game Surround. Surround was one of the nine Atari VCS launch titles in the US and was sold by Sears under the name Chase. That same year, a similar game was launched for the Bally Astrocade as Checkmate. The first known home computer version, titled Worm, was programmed in 1978 by Peter Trefonas for the TRS-80, and published by CLOAD magazine in the same year. This was followed shortly afterwards with versions from the same author for the Commodore PET and Apple II. A clone of the Hustle arcade game, itself a clone of Blockade, was written by Peter Trefonas in 1979 and published by CLOAD. An authorized version of Hustle was published by Milton Bradley for the TI-99/4A in 1980. The single-player Snake Byte was published in 1982 for Atari 8-bit computers, Apple II, and VIC-20; a snake eats apples to complete a level, growing longer in the process. In Snake for the BBC Micro (1982), by Dave Bresnen, the snake is controlled using the left and right arrow keys relative to the direction it is heading in. The snake increases in speed as it gets longer, and there's only one life. Nibbler (1982) is a single-player arcade game where the snake fits tightly into a maze, and the gameplay is faster than most snake designs. Another single-player version is part of the 1982 Tron arcade game, themed with light cycles. It reinvigorated the snake concept, and many subsequent games borrowed the light cycle theme. Starting in 1991, Nibbles was included with MS-DOS for a period of time as a QBasic sample program. In 1992, Rattler Race was released as part of the second Microsoft Entertainment Pack. It adds enemy snakes to the familiar apple-eating gameplay. ...Retro Snake manages to mess it up (but looks cool doing it). Not that Snake we used to play on Nokia 1100 or Motorolla. Some annoying helicopters added which made this untryable to play for my lazy ass.

There have been some really fun and addicting little snakes games over my life that I have played, going all the way back to the early 1980s with my old Commodore 64. Awesome little type in games got played hundreds of times by my friends and I with hits like "Worm of Bemer" and "Cut-Off!" both from Compute! magazine and are still fond gaming memories from my childhood. My "First Play on Launch Day!" Video Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwiDLXbWkew "Retro Snake" doesn't even compare to classic and fun snake games of those days. Old 1994 Nokia games that moved as slow as a snail because those old phones couldn't keep up are a better idea of what to expect with "Retro Snake" There's NO excuse for any snake game being this lack-luster or this this slow on modern computers. Zzzzzz.... My Advice: Save your money and play one of the many free snake games or free light cycle games online which are all at least ten times better and more fun than this one. You can check out a great (but old) amazingly fun little light cycle game that's available for free in glTron HERE: http://www.gltron.org/ You can play a free snake game online that atleast moves faster than this HERE: https://playsnake.org/ You can play a much more fun and action oriented snake battle online right on Steam for FREE against your friends and other Steam users HERE: https://store.steampowered.com/app/466910/Wormis_The_Game/ And if you are just determined to spend money on a good snake game here on Steam, check out MRS SNAKE for the same price ($1.99) HERE: https://store.steampowered.com/app/811910/MRS_SNAKE/ All of the above are in my opinion far superior to "Retro Snake" and most of them are completely FREE as well! My Score for Retro Snake: 2 out of 10. Not Recommended.

Snake is a famous mobile game that I used to play endlessly on my Nokia 3310. I remember back in the days when everyone at my school had or wanted to have a Nokia 3310, and those who did were all playing Snake in class. People wanted to borrow your phone just to play Snake, that's how popular the game used to be. The concept of this simple, addictive, nostalgic game is easy! A pixel randomly appears on the screen, and by eating it you'll become larger. Your goal is to become as large as possible and beat your high score. When you bump into your own body, obstacle or get hit by a rocket, it's game over. This version runs smoothly, looks good and is challenging unlike the many that I have played before. The game has 24 levels to play and starts off easy but gets harder as you make progress. To spice things up, the developer implemented some obstacles and helicopters that shoot rockets at you, making it harder to collect your required amount of candy. I personally really enjoyed it and it is definitely one of the better Snake games on Steam.
